In front of my wife
In front of my wife
As happens occasionally when I'm kilted, a woman coming out of Walmart complimented my kilt, in front of my wife. I asked wife if it bothered her and her reply, "The only thing that bothered me was not being fast enough to point out your great legs. " Honest!
You don't get to judge me by your standards. I have to judge me by mine.

My wife doesn't mind the compliments I get when kilted, but she has taken offense when a woman has lifted or reached under my kilt. This has happened 3 times. She's not too happy when someone (female) asks to have her photo taken with me.

Well, that's just plain rude! I would take offense at such an invasion of privacy, regardless of how jokingly it was done.
It is indeed fun to get compliments on my skirts when I'm out with my wife.
When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!

I don't know why any sane woman would think that it's ok to put her hand up a guys kilt, any more than it would be ok for a guy to put his hand up her dress. However, I somehow doubt that the law would treat each equally. If it happened to a guy he'd just be laughted at and she'd get no consequences, whereas if it was the other way he's be put away for half his life, and be forced to register as a sex offender for the rest of it. Not fair at all.

Re: In front of my wife
I have occasionally worn my kilt to office Xmas parties (I now do it every year no matter how chilly - and it is expected!). One year one of our secretaries bluntly asked if I was wearing anything under it!
I then asked what she (and my colleagues) would say if I put that same question to her. I stated that I would be reprimanded for sexual harassment if I did, but she wouldn't. Made her really embarrassed for opening her mouth to ask so hopefully she would think about it next time! She has now gone onto pastures new (nothing to do with this incident - just found a closer place of work for her)!

Re: In front of my wife
I've found it helpful for my wife to "debrief" people's reactions when we are out together and I have my kilt on. After we sit down at a table at the restaurant or cafe shop, she fills me in on the comments and looks she observed that took place out of my eyesight. It's more fun in some ways to be out kilted with my wife than without.
