Two skirts and a kilt

Thanks to the Café, two skirts and a kilt met up in Grenoble for lunch today.
Skirtyscot and his wife, who are genuine skirt-wearers, are enjoying a holiday with their trousered off-spring in southeastern France. In spite of very changeable weather -- I had some rain cycling into town, and we had a job to find dry seats outside the restaurant -- we remained dry throughout the meal, and had plenty of time for a good chinwag. We even had time for some photos, which you may see one day, if I can discover how to get them out of my phone and into my computer. Bluetooth does not seem very compliant for some reason.

With respect to getting pics off the phone, text them to your normal email address. Most phone systems should be able to handle that.

Bluetooth is now working, and I have viewed the few photos on a larger screen.
No, a phone is not the best thing to use to take good pics (either that, or my hands are no longer stready enough), so I'll leave Ss to post pics from his camera if he wishes to do so after his holiday. I hope they will be clearer than mine.

Coming from GB where this wummer seems to be the wettest in years, the Ss family did not complain too much; I'd be furious to be on holiday with such poor conditions.
Most years, June is very variable here and can be cold, then, bang! July arrives, and everyone is bowled over by the sudden heat-wave. This year, it has happened in reverse -- hot June and miserable July.

Bah! I haven't been able to upload the photos yet. My computer SD card slot doesn't work. My camera battery is flat and I've lost the charger, so I can't plug the camera into the computer and see the photos that way. I will have to borrow a computer with an SD card slot and a memory stick (unless someone here has any bright ideas). Watch this space!

Do you have an interface cable that lets you connect your camera
to your computer

Sometimes you can 'charge' your camera via the interface cable
when it is plugged into your computer. My wife's NOOK can be
charged via the charger or computer using the interface cable.
The interface cable has a mini-USB plug for the NOOK and a
standard USB plug for the charger or computer.

Another work-around - - -
Does your printer have memory card slots ?
Put the SD card into the slot or adaptor and scan it to you computer !
My HP multi-function printer works great for this.

At long last! I have invested in a USB SD card adapter. So now I can finally see my holiday snaps. Can't take any more pictures yet, but I will have another look for the battery charger.

Anyway, I had the pleasure of meeting Couyalair in Grenoble. We had a nice leisurely lunch and a long chat. I had ignored the children's pleas to put some shorts on, so they spent most of the time walking along ten paces behind me as if they weren't with me. And there was no way on earth they were going to have anything to do with these photos!



I'm sure I said a while ago that I wouldn't wear a pink shirt with a skirt - too femme. It looks like it's time to eat my words again! Anyway, I don't think it is femme. What do you reckon?

I'm sorry to hear about the little one's reticence about their "old man" but I'd at least hope that presented with Martin they'd take note and climb down a bit.

On pink: Pink is just another colour, and if one goes back to the 1930s or so pink was actually a boy's colour as it was a diluted version of outright red -- a warrior's colour. Pale blue used to be for the gals as it was viewed as a serene an peaceful colour. If in doubt, take a gander at the early "Disney Princesses" -- they're all in blue.

Crikey it's a small world. My company has a farily large office in Grenoble, and if I can ever figure out a way to get the Boss to pay for surface transit there I'd love to go -- as well as to all the other places we "inhabit" in the EU. (Think 3 months' time in total.)

Judging by the skin colour it is easy to tell which of the two lives in Spain........................

Indeed it is, Jan. But in my defence I will say it was only the first week of my holiday and two days had been rainy! By the time I came back home my legs were a little less pale. Still more colour fom the hair than the freckles though. My next suntan will be my first!

So did I, but sadly not. As he wore a kilt, in their eyes he was less abnormal than me and I was the one out on a limb!
