Today's Couture
What are you planning to wear today other than just a pair of pants and a shirt. Like what skirts or dresses type manly looking clothing, what kind of shoes, tights or other manly looking non pants and shirts outfits.
I'm wearing a straight black knee length cotton skirt with 5 pockets, a medium sized sporran in front in the green, blue, orange and gray hunting Fraser plaid. A sleeveless light green cotton lightweight shirt, leather black loafer style shoes with knee socks to match my sporran.

Re: Today's Couture
Hi Skip,
This question ties in real well with a conversation I had yesterday. When I wore a black/red combo: black red check shirt, gray tee, straight black knee skirt, black tights and black baseball boots with red details. Today, I wore a blue rugby shirt, blue tee, denim mini, navy tights and blue boat shoes.
The point is that I deliberately "coordinated" these looks, something I don't do with trousers. The first was for work as you may have seen in personal stories and the second was to go into town for a visit to the barbers and some other errands.
Right now, a pair of tracksuit bottoms with the same top. Actually still "coordinated" but that's coincidental, nothing else.
By the way Fraser tartan is sure better looking than Kennedy.
Steve.

Re: Today's Couture
It is cold here, so I am wearing a denim skirt just below the knee, navy tights, running shoes, a maroon polo shirt and a navy jumper. Casual and comfortable.

A grey polo shirt, A blue denim cargo skirt which reaches to my lower calf. Sailing wellies, fleece or oilskins, as required, also shortly, a boat.

Re: Today's Couture
A kneelong jeans skirt, checked shirt, anklets and loafers, a combination you can hardly call Couture.
So be it.
Jan.
So be it.

I'm still lounging around in my little white dress, anklets, and loafers as well. Since the outdoor thermometer is showing low triple-digits in the sun I see no reason to put anything heavier on, although the LWD desperately needs to go into the laundry (and I need to get going on that -- the work-week approaches at 86,400 seconds per day).

Re: Today's Couture
Saturday morning (French summer) : to do the necessary shopping -- cotton USAkilt (very faded brownish tartan), white sleeveless t-shirt, sleeveless jacket for money etc, sandals.
Later : at home unbifurcated blue cotton shorts (crotch cut out and sewn up as a short straigth skirt).
Afternoon : long leisurely cycle ride in same, plus sandals.
Sunday (back to Scottish-style summer!) : Two t-shirts, short woolen kilt -- and wondering whether I should be putting on a long-sleeved pullover, too. I've rarely felt the thermometer sink so fast. Rain all day, no intention of going out anywhere.

Re: Today's Couture
As we are without power in the nation's capital, I have been wearing the lightest little above-the knee skirt that I own. And nothing else.
It is 98F here today. I am in DC working a government fellowship and sharing a large home with three student interns who are working on the same program.
So far no comments on my skirts and dresses. Indeed, one of them when asked about my clothing by a co-worker at the Navy lab, spontaneously replied "The Professor is a self-assured man who doesn't much care what other people think." Not a bad reply, considering that I hadn't provided him with any pre-planned responses.

The bare minimum required to maintain the illusion of decency -- I love it!ChrisM wrote:As we are without power in the nation's capital, I have been wearing the lightest little above-the knee skirt that I own. And nothing else.
"Without power in the nation's capital"? What are we turning into? Iraq? Pakistan?
As the saying goes: "For the win!""The Professor is a self-assured man who doesn't much care what other people think." Not a bad reply, considering that I hadn't provided him with any pre-planned responses.

No, both Iraq and Pakistan are richer than we are, who do you think is getting the lion's share of that $3.99 a gallon for gasoline at the pump?Carl said: "Without power in the nation's capital"? What are we turning into? Iraq? Pakistan?
If anyone has CBS TV and gets 60 Minutes Sunday Night Show, there was a terrific story today about Qutar, THE Richest "Per Capita" country in the world. There are 394 Qutarians and per capita they are all multi-millionaires. Everything for people living there is FREE, Health Care, Gasoline, Cars, Homes, Etc Etc. including Americans and any from all countries working there.
BAck to the subject of the topic, Tangerine knee length cotton skirt with 4 pockets, dark orange T shirt, Orange rubber zoris..it's 93 degrees of wet heat outside. So I'm wearing as little as possible that I can legally go outside while wearing.
