Mini Macabi

Summer has arrived and the sun is heating up the house. So far so good.
My Macabi house skirt is ideal in many respects but right now I find it's too long in these temperatures. So I started browsing the net for a shorter replacement with the same good properties and I found it.
I came across the North Face Horizon skirt and found out an outdoor store only 30 car minutes away stocked this garment. See also topic Cargo skirt.
So yesterday I went there (there = http://www.zwerfkei.nl) and bought it. Very interesting store, nice stuff, nice staff.
This Horizon skirts is in fact a mini Macabi; the same super light weight nylon fabric, pockets not as deep as the Macabi but still very useful, roomy and soft.
This skirt certainly will not be restricted to indoor use.

It might be a mini-macabi, but it is a very good length and with the full cut it folds well, to be very presentable when sitting down. Excellent for hot weather.
Appropos the weight training with the broom, that must be because you're skirted, as Harry Potter & friends ride them stuck between their legs!!

It is a miracle I could lift it as high as I did considering frozen shoulders is just one of my exclusive collection of health issues.
But I am not complaining and I keep on laughing.

That skirt looks just right for the Summer. At £45 post free it is not too bad a price. I just looked on the UK website and they are out of stock in my size in stone colour

Maybe I'm getting used to the MIS look but Jan looks completely natural in his skirt etc

Size Charts for women wear differ considerably from men's waist sizes.
I bought a size "L" which corresponds to 37 inch which is just too large for my 36 in waist but a belt does the trick.

BTW when I bought the skirt it was 27 degrees and the sun was shining. Ever since the temp dropped to 16 degrees centigrade and it rains virtually continuously.

I wonder Jan, you mentioned frozen shoulders, I wonder if you have a problem similar to mine...because of a scooter accident, my shoulders have limited movement and strength, but I'm hoping to get more movement and strength back in them.

Frozen shoulders mean limited and painfull movement, in your case caused by an accident.
In my case however it is caused by Tendinitis Calcarea, Bursitis Calcarea with Impinchment causing many painfull arcs.
Do'nt ask me to translate this all! It is what the docter told me and he showed me the X-ray photographs. Not a pretty sight.
The result of all this is that everydays movements like pouring hot water in a teapot, peeling potatoes or drinking a cup of coffee hurt like hell.
I see a physiotherapist twice a week and he provided me with tools to exercise every day. This treatment improves the mobility of arms and wrists but does not ease the pain.

Nevertheless however, I just keep on laughing.

I'm sorry to hear that Jan, I'm glad at least the the mobility can be improved. When I was in rehab and had pain in my shoulders, the therapist used something like ultrasound to cause an analgesic ointment to penetrate beneath the skin and into the muscles and it helped a lot with the pain. I forget now what they called it, I'll try to find out when I see her again. I wish they could help your pain with something like that.

I'm more tempted by black version, which isn't as widely available discounted but NF do have them in stock so I may yet give in...

I just had a look at the linked website and discovered that one of the features of the skirt is a "Gussetted crotch for increased mobility".

I always thought skirts have no crotch at all, the main reason for me to wear them.
But what is a "gusseted" crotch? Google translate and other sites have no idea.
