A chance encounter
A chance encounter
Had to smile to myself today after leaving the day-old bread store. (We refer to it as the used bread store. ) At any rate, an Asian woman, who had not been in America long enough to loose her accent was intrigued with my "skirt", a Utilikilt in camo that the clerk informed her was called a kilt. The helpful clerk also told her that the Scottish wear kilts. The whole thing came off as the only thing out of the ordinary was having never seen a man in a skirt/kilt before. I proceeded on to my get together with friends who are quite used to men in kilts or even skirts for that matter.
You don't get to judge me by your standards. I have to judge me by mine.

The manager of the store I go to is also quite understanding/supportive of my alternative dressing. We've been seeing each other about every other week for the better part of 20 years now. She did have to deal with one customer a couple of years ago who had issues with the way I look.
