Skirt sizes
Skirt sizes
Following on from the comment about me having a sylph like figure (untrue, I have as much of a paunch as the next man) I thought I'd poll you about your waist size. I expect quite a few "mind your own beeswax" answers, but there you go, I'm doing it anyway.
I put women's sizes too, as some here wear those items in those sizes & therefore a possibility of 2 options for each of those

Re: Skirt sizes
I've put mine in, but I think it may some adjustment, as most on here will be in the 30" - 36" waist category. Those 6 inches can cover a whole load of sins!
Think in terms of adding or losing 6 inches to/from your own waist!

Re: Skirt sizes
Hmmm! Perhaps you are right, but there are only so many options I can put. To encompass everyone, I think, this is the best I can do to get an initial picture. Perhaps a more detailed one if anyone else is interested.

Re: Skirt sizes
46" waist, 22W skirt size seems to fit me properly - surprisingly. Would like to be about 10" narrower later this year.

Re: Skirt sizes
Waist size 33" or skirt size 12 UK are the ones that fit me (a shade under 6' tall)
(Note that US sizes are different to UK ones - eg ChrisM above)

Re: Skirt sizes
20 years ago my waist size was no less than 42 in. but over the last two decades I managed to lose 25 kilo's of weight.
Since then I have a waist size of 36 in. only.
You could say I am a slender-bender rather than a gender-bender.

Re: Skirt sizes
Waist 34, Hips 41, (Chest 43), Altitude (now!) 6'1", UK size 14/16 depending on manufacturer. Enter the little roll-measure. That tells the truth. On the hanger I measure the inside of the flat waist. 17" ideal, 16.5" at a pinch.
Then the length: 25" hits mid-knee, 16" mid-thigh. longer or shorter are non-starters for me. I'm not into hipsters. Straight cuts are no-no, A-line or pleats a must, pockets essential. Narrows the choice down somewhat!

Re: Skirt sizes
Waist 34" (on a good day), size 14(elasticated waist) or 16,depending on manufacturer. A length of 21" feels best at mid -knee (height 5'5" and shrinking) or 36". Nothing in between those lengths, mid-calf makes me look even shorter !. Interesting thread.
