No, no, no, no & no, no, indeed no, not size 44, that would be rather rotund, bordering on corpulant! If you scrutinise my last with an intense scrute, you will see that I typed 44", as in 44 inch waist, or size 24 in UK skirtism. The skirt is XL (as listed on the site) which is the biggest they do. Listed at 42" inch waist, so I knew I was just hoping for some generous sizing. As I said the skirt seems smaller than 42" but I didn't bother measuring it.
I can always use it as something to dream of fitting. If I can lose my gut completely, it would probably fit, but then I would need braces for the rest of my skirts! I was trying to find the supplier/manufacturer last night, but didn't manage it.Pity, I would gladly pay a bit more for one which fitted me, I like the skirt, it seems well made and designed.

I am a 39 inch waist and not particularly tall and besides I don't wear floor length skirts, knee length is my preferred style.

Looks like you will have to send it back, B&B. But at least you have reported quite favourably on it, so I might see if they have it in my size if I can persuade Mrs SS to give the credit card a day off some time.

but I'm in a 44-46(inch waist) and-depending on the manufacturer-can be a bit
tight or loose fit. Hey - Round is a shape, just because I resemble that shape
doesn't mean I don't like skirts or kilts. I proudly wear them, and as long as the
folks that manufacture them will accommodate larger sizes, the rest of 'us' will
be happy campers.

Well B&B and I came to an arrangement and I am now the proud owner of a Svenjoyment skirt that fits nicely, with just enough room to know that I could over indulge at a buffet without having to worry about breathing afterwards.

In terms of manufacture, the skirt is pretty impressive. The fabric is tight woven and feels robust, but is not heavy. All the hems and seams are neat and well finished, with no loose threads or trailing ends. The skirt hangs well (and will hang better once it is pressed to get the two large pleats to sit correctly, at present they are a little crumpled due to being folded up for delivery). The zipper sits at about 45 degrees, from the front right down to the centre, which feels a little odd, but is just a matter of getting used to it and it makes a nice design feature, taking the skirt a little away from the ordinary. The angled zip caused me some confusion when I first put the skirt on, I twisted it so that both the pleats fell on the left, which felt right and it was only when I looked in a mirror that I realised that the two back pockets were in the centre of my back and on my right hip I guess I'll soon get used to lining it up correctly.

The length is good on me, stopping about one inch above the floor without any shoes on. I suspect I will need to practise wearing the skirt for a while to learn not to trip on the hem, particularly going upstairs. It's only 2" longer than my next longest skirt, but it is surprising how much difference that makes when walking in it. The pleats allow a full stride however I may ask a local dressmaker to run a line of black stitching along the inside edges of the pleats to help them stay in place (the outer edges are already stitched). Based on previous form, she is unlikely to make a charge for a small job like that, as she says that she gets plenty of chargeable work from Carole and me anyway.

Now I just need to introduce Carole to the skirt and get her buy in... She can be a little unpredictable about skirts sometimes, but even if she does not like an outfit she will generally tolerate it. We're off to the cinema this evening to see "Warhorse" and will probably have a stop at a pub for a pint on the way home. Unless I get a very negative vibe from Carole I shall give this skirt its first public airing this evening.

All in all, I reckon this skirt is a win. Thanks B&B.

Here in Holland you simply buy a Sven-O skirt in a physical shop. I bought mine (see picture) at Partyshopping. Nice skirt and very good coffee.
Of course it is also possible to buy online: http://www.partyshopping.nl
