I am BACK!

Post by DALederle »

It was and still is a nightmare! But I'm back!
Surgery was sucessfull. I woke up afterward (as much as you can wake up) though I don't remember anything until the second day. I still have some pain and a bad scar now on the front of my belly. Wow, if some one digs me up in a few hundred years he/she would be amazed at the look of my stomach. Cut and scars all over me.
This one is verticle, alongside my belly button. Four others were hosizontal. It's like a railroad map.
I came home on Tues. but have still been getting my strength back up.
So today is the first time I felt good enough to walk back into the computer and be able to do something, like post this message.
I'll post more later and I recover more strength.
THis one's just to say HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done, Dennis. So glad you're on the mend. Better a railroad map on your tummy that all those nasties that were inside.

Every best wish for an uneventful and speedy recovery.

Dennis, it is exceedingly good to hear that you're home and are well enough to get to the computer to tell us motley lot how you're doing! I am gratified to hear that you, given the circumstances, are doing quite well indeed.

Kirbstone nailled it -- better the railway map on the outside than a tangled mess inside.

Welcome back!

Welcome back! Here's wishing you a speedy recovery. I know how those big belly scars heal so be careful with it.

Surgery turn one into a semi-invalid. Be careful, and good luck!

Things are getting a little easier. In small steps. Getting around without the walker now for the last two days.
But still taking naps. I guess they help.
Just sitting up for a while takes some effort.
Tomorrow the surgeon removes a drain and the staples. Everything should go a lot better after that.
I'm glad they got rid of the cancer! But I will have to think long and hard about any more surgery I go through.
A quality of life issue.
I dodged a big bullet this time but I really want to look at other options next time.

It miust have been an ordeal you won't forget, but it's good news that it is behind you, and with frequent naps (excelent therapy) things will be getting easier and easier.

Best wishes,

Dennis, the best word you came up with was "WALK". Says it all and I certainly wish you a full recovery!

Can't help but echo all of these sentiments, but mind your Doc. and do as much as he/she says, no more.
