Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
Gavin M. George, age 7, was practicing for a recital and his parents
thought he was doing such a good job, they set up the video camera
and recorded his rehearsal closing piece. He is a bit of a 'ham', but is
a fantastic pianist.
Kilted Organist/Musician
Grand Musician of the Grand Lodge, I.O.O.F. of Texas 2008-2025
When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
U-tube is a wonderful invention/creation, allowing very amateur leisuretime musicians like myself access to practically any work being performed before one's eyes.
Prodigies like young Master George are destined to entertain the World, and one can only hope that they avoid mental breakdowns resulting from the pressure associated with that calling...I refer to David Helfgott and the late John Ogden, just two.

I can't add much to what B&B said, I'm thunderstruck. I just hope he avoids the pitfalls of "growing up".
When I was 17 there was a child violin prodigy in my neighborhood. everyone thought his future was as bright as this Gavin child until one of his "friends" pushed him off a railroad trestle about 60 feet from the ground. He died on impact. They were both 7 years old. The violinist was in the third grade, having skipped both Kindergarten and the second grade through home schooling. The "pusher" was still in the first grade.
He fits into the hundreds of children in the "what if they'd lived" category that fills every year with sad stories. The child who pushed him off said the reason he did it was, "I wanted to see what happened when he hit".
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I took piano lessons because my mother insisted upon it. She was from the old school that said everyone had to learn to play an instrument. Went fine in the first two lesson. Then the teacher told me to play with BOTH hand. Both hands at once! Boy was I shocked! Something I could not do back then.
To bad, because I think I could do it now if I tried it again.
Hope that kid sticks with it!
