A change of the guard

Post by kodiak »

Well as time flows by some changes have happened. Skirted is still having some health problems and the doctors now want him to do a stress test and put him on nitro pills so driving semi truck is now out of the question. So on March 14 I started school for truckdriving so there would be at least one bread winner between us. It took a while for Skirted to get his mind around to excepting it but he is getting used to the idea. If all goes well I should graduate around May 10th and have a job lined up to start May 16th, already have two offers so that is good.
We took the first weekend of the federal brakemans class the other weekend and have one more weekend to go then 12 student trips to get our hands on training before certification for the railway museum we belong to. This in the middle of me going to trucking school things are a little intense but I think that I am handling it well. :bom: The only part I truely hate is that I now stay in La Crosse WI and Skirted is back home in Portage Wi which is about 1 1/2 hours away and I miss him so much. Not much else to tell you for now, will keep you posted on how Skirted is doing and what we find out from the stress test on April 6.

Sorry to hear of Skirted's problems, but that's good news on truck school for you. AND learning to handle a train, too.

They're easy - they go round corners like they're on rails. *gets coat and scarpers...*

Hope he gets well and you get sorted with a job soon.
