Chicago's Snow Storm!
Chicago's Snow Storm!
Barbara and I are stranded inside our house. She stayed home yesterday rather then get stranded trying to get home after work. This morning we had 36" or 3 feet of snow on the flat part of our driveway. It was higher then that in drifts.
In fact our dogs disappered when they went outside this morning. Surprising enough both seemed to enjoy romping in the snow.
Thank God this only happens every 30 years or so around here. Last time was 1979. They were predicting another ice age just after that snow fall. So what's happened to global warming? LOL
We're just staying in until the neighbors we hired to clear our snow get the job done.

Our Dogs in the snow this morning!
The dogs really seemed to be having a good time jumping into the snow drifts and teasing each other. If they could I sure they would have thrown snowballs at each other. Like a couple of kids.
It was fun to watch until you realised how deep it all was.
Still can't use our front door or kitchen door. Drifts are half way those doors.
Just thankful the power is still on for us!

Re: Chicago's Snow Storm!
The dogs are sure cute, Dennis. Be thankful you have power, heat, and light. So long as you have food, you guys can just fort up and be done with for a few days.
We got another foot of the blasted stuff today, including about 6 inches of sleet (talk about heavy shovelling!) on top of about a foot from the day before. Our part of the world averages about 64 inches of snow per winter, and that has been just about reached in the past two and a half weeks.
I hurt from all the exertion, and there'll be more in the next few days as I try to level out the snowbanks on either side of the driveway and front walk, not to mention all the stuff that's on our roof. I am so ready for Spring, but once this snow-pack starts melting we have to start worrying about floods in the basement. It's always something.
Enjoy your time together. Sapphire and I made pasta this evening for dinner, and even though I hurt from all the exertion, dinner was good. Make the best of what you have.

Last night Australian time a cyclone( cat. 5 ) hit North Queensland, the storm cell size would cover most of the USA and the eye was 100km across, it looks like we are all getting usually bad weather.

We Florida Keys residents would much rather have our tame Hurricanes than your powerful cyclones, it's to be expected I suppose, since the Pacific Ocean and all the connecting seas and gulfs is about 3 times the size of the Atlantic Ocean.

Re: Chicago's Snow Storm!
The good news is that the snow is now gone! Most of it melted during a heat wave last week when it got into the 50s and 60s. I know that's chilly for Skip but it sure felt good for about three days. But then we had a really cold day, near zero which has been followed by "seasonable" (read freeking cold) temps in the 20s and 30s. We are already above the average snow fall for this year and they say there are more small snow storms headed for us this next week or two.
When is the @#$%%^^^^^^&&&&&&! Spring gonna get here.
Where's the groundhog when you need him? Out chucking wood for an insurance comercial? He should get back to work on the important things. Like getting Spring her early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't get warm enough even with the heat up on my thermostat!

Don't take me seriously! Just blowing off steam! I wish I had steam!
