I still think AVATAR was the best movie I've seen in at least 15 years. I loved all the inventive creatures in it. :D :D
: Jake says, "how do I know the Declan has accepted me? Kiri answers with, "He'll try to kill you"...Jake= Outstanding!!

I stopped enjoying the Harry Potter series of movies when two things happened. 1. the gang of kids grew up and Sir Richard Harris died and was replaced by um, uh, I can't remember his name and his portrayal of Dumbledore is not very memorable. :blue:

Having enjoyed a few Harry Potter films at the beginning I now find that later ones merge into one another and I've lost my way, so to speak. They're a lot less sittable-through, now.
As for Avatar fans. I consider that film to be a real milestone in cinema history. We got hold of an intriguing illustrated booklet titled 'Avatar- a Survivalist guide', which deals with the planet, geology, flora and fauna and the tribes, customs, weapons &c. Lastly it describes the Earthling aircraft & weapons &c. Fascinating. Alas, my home cinema isn't kitted out for 3D. I expect that would cost a bomb.

I really liked "Avatar" too. Just got back today from seeing "Despicable Me". I think DALederle is onto something about kids' movies being more inventive. I really liked it, liked "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and looking forward to seeing "Tangled".

Try to get to see "Legend of the Guardians, the Owls of Ga'Hoole" if you can. It's probably not playing anymore since it's out on blue Ray and DVD already. My wife and I took our granddaughter to see it in 3-d and we all loved it.
It is visually stunning to say the least. The blu ray copy I have is not 3-d but still worth seeing. I would put it on a par with Avatar but with a different subject matter.
Another Christmas Movie I think I failed to mention was "We're No Angles" with Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov and Aldo Ray. What a fun movie to watch. A little mayham.
Having a granddaughter handy to give us an excuse to run out and see the latest kids movies helps keeps us young at heart. I even enjoyed "Toy Story 3" this year.

Merry Christmas to all and to all Goodnight!
