Thank you, Uncle Al for a wonderful aerial tour of the US of A. I enjoyed it very much. I'm actually surprised that you managed to get so close to Manhattan in a private aircraft.

HEY,
that happens to be some of the prettiest pictures I have seen in a long while. Some years ago sans a decent camera, I was privileged to fly in a WW1 biplane and it very much evokes that experience, only mine was in dull rural England.

Thanks Tom, but I was not the pilot or photographer. I haven't flown
a plane in about 30 years. A friend emailed the link to me, which I
thought was fantastic and I wanted to share it with the membership
of the Cafe'. This "Photo Session" brought back fond memories of when
I was flying a 1946 Aeronica 7AC Champ, 1961 Piper Colt and Tri-Pacer,
plus several other types and brands.

Oh-Well, memories will last for ever.

I popped open the link that Uncle Al posted earlier and haven't made it even halfway through yet -- there is such a bounty in it.

As far as anything being boring or plain from a semi-open cockpit, I think I'd have to put the nix on such a notion. Photos such as Al posted the link to are about as close to the purest essence of aviation as one can get aside from ultralights, and are so absolutely unlike what one gets from a semi-pressurised tube at FL310. The shot of the right-hand-man with the window open and his arm on the sill speaks volumes.

I need to go through the rest of the folio in the coming days! So much amazement and so little time. And this is coming from a bloke who likes to see it from train windows!
