November 1st is All Saints Day

Post by Since1982 »

I'm hoping to see it. It's also my birthday. I had a very bad pain in my chest early yesterday and was rushed to the hospital for some scans. I did have a heart attack. Not my first, but my worst one ever. I've had over 50 all told and if I had the $$ I'd have open heart surgery but I don't have the $$ or medicare or medicaid as I'm not elegible for either.

I won't be on here as much as I used to, as I now need to spend more time in bed. Life.....Thanks for being my friends. :thewave:

I wish you all the best, Skip. You are certainly one of the elder statesmen of the forum, and I'd love to see you around for many years to come. Do what it takes and stay smiling.

Take good care of that ticker, Skip. We'd all hate to see things go bad.

Best of luck ol' pal.

So sorry to hear of your heart problem, Skip. That's a real shocker. Here's wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
I've enjoyed our recent messages exchange immensely and look forward to a resumption of same, laced with your wit and good humour.
One thing to be thankful for with a heart attack is that assuming one survives it and gets on the mend you still have all your faculties, even if you have to pace yourself a bit. My eldest brother aged only 74 is on the flat of his back after a severe stroke, can't speak at all and can only move with difficulty. It is now a whole month since he was afflicted and it is hard to see him ever regaining his old self, now.

Cheers, Tom K. :)

Sorry to hear about your heart attack, Skip.
I survived my own 4 years ago. But surviving 50 of them is very impressive.
What therapy are you on?
Use skim milk, avoid fatty meats, eat more veggies, an asprin a day, etc.
Mild exercise?
I keep trying to help myself but my COPD gets in the way of doing more.
Hope you make it to All Saints Day!

Skip,

Sorry to read of your heart problem, but the fact that you are posting about it has to be good news.

You have no choice about making it to All Saints Day; we share a birthday and I'm sure you don't want to miss my half century. It would certainly not feel right for me to turn on my PC that day and not see at least one post from you.

Look after yourself.

Best also from here, Skip. We are parked with another couple in the desert. He had a triple bypass just at the first of the month and we came to guard their coach while he was at the hospital and she was in a motel nearby. Now we are just helping with any heavy lifting or other things he's been told not to do for a month or more. He's doing very good. That's encouraging for all of us.

Get better Skip.
