Were.is.your.kilt? ...
... in a heavy accent. Huh?? Where is your Kilt? ... Don't you normally wear a Kilt? Ahh yes I do, today I had to come straight from work. ... trousers ...
I normally go grocery shopping on Sunday afternoon but I was busy yesterday, so I went today. I went to Whole Foods and Safeway. At the Safeway check out I was concentrating on getting home as my stomach was not happy. When the checkout lady asks me about the lack of Kilt. I do not even remember her face from previous trips as Safeway is not my regular market. BUT she knew ME!! I says I did not even know anyone noticed!! OH YES they do, the Ladies do notice!
So I made an impression that I was totally un-aware of.
Lesson learned;
Over the past 5 years I made the effort of wearing a Kilt/skirt when not at work. So people have become use to seeing me in a Kilt and no longer comment. They comment now when I do not wear a Kilt! Small but important thing she recognised and called it a Kilt not a skirt! I'll give that Lady an A+. She made my day even though I was not kilted.

I can pretty much guarantee that we're leaving behind a large trail of impressions every time we step out the front door and sally forth into the world around us. At least I'm fairly certain that I made more than a few when I got up and poked sharp questions about regarding a couple of proposals brought forth at Town Meeting.
Yes, I was wearing a skirt; I am not intimidated by things like this -- why should I be? For the record, it wasn't one of my very best looking rigs, mainly because the A/C in the hall switches off at about 19:00 and the place gets ruddy hot; it was a navy blue tiered skirt (Thanks, Sapphire!), lighter blue dress shirt, my not-so-new blue silk brocade waistcoat, sheer legwear, and my usual men's dress slip-ons.
