Your favourite skirt and why?

Long time no post!
At last, I have broadband, so it is worth doing online things again.
The skirt I wear most often is an ankle length version of the Midas denim cargo skirt. A special order. Like they said when I ordered it, it is a bit restricting but I like that. The main reason I like it is that it is long and therefore warm, it also has pockets for carrying both mobile phones around (I am normally on call).
In public the only skirt I use is my kilt due to cowardice.
I still like to wear the long brown gypsy skirt for sheer comfort and swirl factor, but it has no pockets and needs a belt to keep it up due to my pot bellied fat man's figure. (This one is or was in my pics thread.)

Well I'm going to go ahead and break that down into two categories, kilts and skirts:

Skirt wise: I would have to go with my super light weight cotton tie dyed skirt of which I have no pictures and unfortunately don't wear in public all that often. I made it myself.

Kilt wise: I am certain that my favorite is my lightweight nylon Sports Kilt because of the forementioned reasons as well as that it is highly traditional looking and it has convenient pockets that blend in when not in use. I have a feeling that once I get enough fabric for a great kilt the Sports Kilt will be replaced by the great kilt in favoritism. Although it is not me wearing it I can give you a nice picture of the great kilt:
It can also be worn with the fly (the part hanging over the shoulder) hanging down, used as storage pockets or pulled up over the head like a cloak depending on the weather and your needs.

If I had to pick between the two however I'd go with the kilt.

I think we all know what a great kilt or Breacan looks like, I don't think we have one member that hasn't seen Rob Roy or Braveheart at least 10 times.LOL

Fav scene in Rob Roy...him dragging his claymore and looking completely beat, before slicing Archie Cunningham almost in half.(played very well by Tim Roth, an excellent English actor who got his start in Pulp Fiction playing "Rambo"with girlfriend "Hunnybunny" in the Restaurant scene).

I would say that of the 10 skirts I have, my favorite is my blue ankle length demin. It goes good with t-shirts, sweaters, and just about anything. I'll post some pics soon...

Since1982 (Me) said: I think we all know what a great kilt or Breacan looks like, I think ("most" is an edit of "all" of our members having seen Rob Roy (starring Liam Neeson) or Braveheart(starring Mel Gibson) at least("1 or no times, an edit of 10" times).LOL

The Skirt Cafe doesn't have the ability to go back a month and edit a post, so I had to do a new post concerning it. Consider this post an edit of the late February post please.

I think I have the right to stick my foot in my mouth every now and again.

That's for "many" of our members, AMM has apprised us of the fact he's never seen "Braveheart".

After our members get wearing skirts/kilts/MUGs on a regular basis, it's true they don't run out to see any new movies that have skirt wearing men in them. All they need do to see a skirt wearing man is look in the mirror. Thanks for pointing that out to me, AMM, I do appreciate your huge contributions to the cause of "skirts for men" with the excellent home sewing creation of very professional looking skirted garments for men.

I don't recall ever watching Rob Roy and I know I've only seen about half of Braveheart. I got bored and went to sleep, Carole had to wake me at the end of the film.

my favour is much short skirt like mini skirt and mainly in denim also some of cord and velvet skirt also using with black tights which look much nicely - I usual wear every day and already went out in public, no problems at all

My favourite skirt is a Gap brand ankle length cargo in a light brown sueded cotton, bought on eBay. I prefer the ankle length skirt in general and this material feels so decadent it is, to me magnifique This skirt is usually reserved for better occasions as I haven't been able to access a mate for it and don't want to see it deteriorate too quickly.
