A bummer of an evening.

Post by Uncle Al »

Well, I left my computer on while we went to the hospital to vist
my wifes mother. When we came home, my monitor was in 'sleep mode'.
I moved the 'mouse', nothing happened. I then noticed all of the lights
on my machine were OFF. I hit the 'start' button, still nothng happened.

I hit the reset button on my surge protector. That didn't help either.
I pulled the power plug out of the back of my machine and re-inserted it.
STILL NOTHING :!:   :!:

Well - 6 hours later I finally get the laptop working and all updated.
Now I can get on the I-net. This laptop keyboard is the pits. I can't
plug in my regular one as I don't have an adaptor to go from PS-2
plug to USB.

I'm %$^#@(&*^%$#$@+()&% frustrated :!: It will be Monday
before I can get a new power supply. :blue: :blue:

Yesterday - I was kilted at the hospital. Today - I wore p*nts due
cold temps.

Anyway, I hope all had a wonderfully skirted/kilted day :!:

No need to apologise. When they choose to go wrong, computers can be just about the most frustrating items in the home. I very much doubt whether there is anyone here who has not experienced that sort of frustration, and we all know how important it is to blow off steam occasionally.

Hope you get everything back on an even keel soon.

Have fun,

Ian.

Thanks Ian :!:

This laptop keyboard is a pain to work with.
If you don't hit the keys just right, the letters
will not type on the screen.

(Come on Monday.......)

Update - - -

Monday was a good day :D

I picked up my new power supply, installed it
and updated my virus and spy ware.

Sure is great to be back on a regular keyboard
and using a monitor that lets me see what
I'm doing

Just got a much bigger RAM module for my ancient laptop. Amazing what that has done for it, but it has always been a good friend. ARMADA M300 (Compaq).
