Re: What if?
I would wear kilts. Oh wait I mostly already do. Even most of the skirts I have are plaid patterns. I have made a number of kilt skirts. Skirts cause they are not a wrap and don't use buckle closures. I live in Canada. Kilts will always be an available skirt for a man in this country. The country ha...

Re: Kilt skirt for men
I like plaids. Tartans are plaids. They are colourful and can be muted or bright. You can make them as a kilt, a wrap skirt or as any kind of skirt. Maybe in Great Britain people know the difference but most other places in the world they have not idea of what is truly a kilt. I have had people call...

Re: My 2nd Kilt
The material length for Kilts is because of the length of the hidden part of the pleat. The pleat may only show as an inch but the under side can be as much as 4 or 5 inches. So if the under side is the same length as the showing pleat you don't need a lot of fabric length to make a kilt type garment.

Re: kilt wearing
I wear my Kilts all year long. I get the minus 20s C too. When the temps get down there I wear a pair of knee high socks (hose). some are wool but most are man made fabric. Still have the joy and freedom the kilt brings and the legs stay warm. Not suggesting I'm out for a 60 minute hike but for just...

Re: Pseudo-kilt
I have made several kilts out of cotton or cotton blend pattern material. Currently have two lengths of material in a cotton blend material. One in the Alberta Canada tartan pattern and one in the Saskatchewan Canada tartan pattern. Both will get made up into a kilt this winter. For Uncle Al. pseudo...

Re: Techniques you've used to get more men into wearing skirts
I'm in agreement that being out wearing skirts is the best way to promote skirt wearing. I also agree kilts are a great entry point. Yes real kilts are expensive but there are lots of cheap ones on the internet. I started with 18 inch long ones made in Pakistan. I wore them without sporrans, belts o...

Re: Hello from Maryland!
Welcome Lucien,
I have started making most of my skirts although I find it easier to post on Instagram.
Everything I have made so far is plaid based. I like colours and the way pleats flow.
Hope you enjoy the site as others have said we are all inclusive.

Re: Stop Assuming Biological Male in Skirt = MIS (They're probably pre-op transwomen)
Stevie: In my opinion you are far too negative on kilts. I think most men know they are a type of skirt. Thankfully they are a skirt that is identified as male dress. That makes it easy for a man to adopt the joys of skirts without worrying about criticism. I have three kilt styled kilts i have made...

Re: Hello hello !
Hello dani92, The easiest way to start is with a kilt. Whether that is a utility one or a tartan one. There are lots of cheaper online places to get inexpensive tartan style kits. There are also several USA companies making kilts. I have been up and down the eastern US seaboard states a few times wi...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Was out grocery shopping today. I was wearing a Robertson hunting tartan kilt. I had two older women (guessing eighties) tell me that they really liked my skirt. I just smiled and said Thank you.

Re: Skirtish kilt
A pleated circle type skirt can look like a kilt.
I might go with a patterned one if the wife is against you skirting. Good luck in your skirt adventure.

Re: Do People Notice?
I live in an area with a small population. Local town around 12,000, greater area maybe 20,000. I wear a skirt or a kilt all the time. I use to get a lot of comments. Now not so many. I still get comments from men and women when I am away from home. I think people in the area have just gotten use to...

Re: Your Favorite Skirt Length?
My user name says Skirts 18 to 20 inches. All my kilts are at that length. My skirts range from 13 to 18 inches. So I guess 13 to 20 is what I wear. I like them all. Prefer my skirts a little shorter than my kilts.
