Re: Andy Rooney Once Said……

Well, that load of tosh in the OP reminded why I don't often wander into the Off Topic area. What a waste of three minutes of my life. Well done Moonshadow for gently taking Uncle Al to task for it. Benjy's 13 virtues are 1300 times more worth reading.

Nice kaftan, FFA. Good pattern and it looks very comfortable.

Re: Hello from Belgium!

It is better with the shirt out. The shirt is quite loose, so it goes well with the wide shape of the skirt. It all looks very relaxed and comfortable.

No pockets --- very common problem with skirts. You must choose between a jacket and a bag.

... When you couple that with the government being slow off the mark ... They had no option: the U.K. no longer had a manufacturing base for respirators or pharmaceuticals.  That's why there was a lag whilst our few remaining manufacturing industries got geared up for a new product and our research...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I have only worn trousers for a total of about 8 hours in the last two months. I only go out for food. I have not gone out in a skirt or dress because in Scotland you are not allowed to go far from home and if you do you are likely to be stopped by the Police and could even be fined. With a bot of ...

Re: help finding a full length slip

Have you tried contacting the guys who post here in the sewing section? Maybe one of them would be willing to make you a bespoke slip, for a small consideration.

Re: Stealth dress

Great work, bl. What if you loosen the belt a notch or two, so it does little more than draw attention to the waist?

Hello and welcome, Spirou003.

I agree with pdx that the plaid skirt is good, but can I suggest you wear it with the shirt out? The skirt on the right is nice as well, though it needs a more formal shirt.

Re: Social distancing is easy! Try this....

What an amazing story! Actually I see that it took place on Friday 8 May, so presumably our bank holiday has been moved from the 4th to the 8th to mark the 135th anniversary of the occasion? Can't think why else they would do it.

Re: Hello and Happy Lockdown!

Hello and welcome, Geralt! You should have plenty of time to enjoy wearing your skirts indoors these days, unless you work in healthcare. Once you're used to wearing them indoors, you won't want to get changed to go out. Take the plunge and step outside - you'll be glad you did!

Re: Has anyone else worn a really short skirt out and about

These are my shortest, by a smidgen. I know I'm nowhere near as daring as some of you, and I'm quite happy with that. http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/skirtyscot/_20140710_140713.jpg There's a burgundy fake leather one in my pics thread, might be as short, but I only ever wear it with opaque...

Re: Postive Wife Support

... only time I found a conflict was once we were in a store with a close out on some skirts -- we found a lovely one in her size and a matching one in mine -- I proposed buying both, but she did not want to match on the street--she got the new skirt. Looks good on her but I think we would have mad...

Re: Postive Wife Support

Yet another conversion with my wife about me in skirts. Apparently she is ok with me wearing them providing I don't wear one she would wear? :o Seems fair enough to me. You're a man in a skirt, not a woman, so she wants to keep a small divide between what you wear and what she wears. And she doesn'...
