Re: My public journey #2 - London

Hello and welcome, CamperGuy! You have cracked it! The trip to London taught you what you needed to know. Now keep it up - it gets easier every time. How about you take no trousers on your next trip in your camper van? It would be fun and nobody would mind in the least. (Unless you have family who a...

Wise counsel indeed. For my tour of a submarine (and a frigate) I chose an ankle-length skirt. No exposure, not even going up or down ladders.

Re: Your Favorite Skirt Length?

Too difficult, I don't have a favourite. My post in the "How short is too short?" thread fits here quite nicely:

Re: Cant get enough of Men's Skirts

I kind of wish more MIS posted to r/outfits and r/fashion, but those are HUGE subs and it's a bit scary to open yourself to potential negative feedback. I never had the guts, and frankly never felt I would be understood by those groups. There are other alt fashion subs on reddit that are more accep...

Re: Defined by Kids

I don't think that is really a circular argument. I agree with this. It's a shortened way of saying that men don't wear skirts because other men don't wear skirts, and societal pressure makes them conform. It was presented to us all as a simple fact when we were too young to question it, and most m...

Re: The Magic Lives on

Welcome back, sellek! My story started like yours: after years of wanting to, I finally bought a skirt, a denim one from M&S, and it was fantastic, it just felt right to wear it. I still have it, though it's past its best and it has been rather overshadowed by a very large number of more strikin...

Re: A Clearance Item

You've missed my point, Uncle Al. My point is not to do with the model herself, it's about the images of her. There's something off about them, she's been digitally manipulated into Uncanny Valley. And those two images of her are 100% identical: the pose, the facial expression, the hair ... everythi...

Re: Men's Skort - at Marks and Spencer!!!

And though they may have it listed under "mens" they sure did not go to any effort to make the model appear male -- had it not been for the catalog tab, I'd not "have known" ! Poof Indeed. The person tying the waist cord has distinct breasts. Why call it a men's garment and have...

Re: A Clearance Item

The blue is a nice colour and doesn't look like it's designed to fit round women's curves. But the model is really off-putting! Is she an AI creation or a real woman altered in unsettling ways? Exactly identical in the two pictures. I always distrust vendors who do that. Makes me suspect that I'm no...

Re: Rewriting the rules for menswear – new wearable skirts for men

The reason why some visual proportions work and others do not, is that humans tend to prefer things in simple mathematical ratios: -... Re: How short is too short?

I have quite a few skirts that are about 18", and a few that are a little shorter. A couple are slightly less than 17", and that's my limit. Those are mostly for the tights season, which is quite long in Scotland. In summer I prefer something longer, to keep out of sight those things that ...

Re: Hi from Lincolnshire UK

Hello Pete54 and :welcome: You have the right sort of attitude (bolshy) to wear skirts out and about! Best to bring your partner with you, rather than pissing her off, so as to smooth the path and have an easier time. Maybe start at home when you have visitors who won't mind, or on a country walk wh...

Re: Welcome from Bristol UK

Hello and welcome, Robin! You're one of the lucky few, having a supportive wife (as am I) so make the most of it. Get your skirt on and you'll find it gets easier each time. From my statistically insignificant data set (we spent a day there about 4 years ago), the people of Bristol don't care what y...

Re: Out of town in a skirt

Well done, Mr F, the first time doing anything like that isn't easy. I'm glad that you got some positive reactions from your group, it's a big boost when people let you know they're on your side.

Next, conquer Alyth and Carnoustie!
