Re: Old Woman Patriot

If the old lady's father died in WW2, he was born around 1915-1920. The old lady would have been born around 1937-1946. She can't be born after 1946 because WW2 ended in 1945. Taking the 1937 year, she would have been 13-16 during the Korean Conflict which ran from 1950-53. So her husband would not ...

Re: Non - US views on last night’s election debate

Thomas Jefferson said "Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%.". This is the danger of democracy run amok. The real problem with the electoral college is that in all but 2 states (Nebraska and Maine) it is winner-take-all. The minor...

Re: Non - US views on last night’s election debate

We've seen one president appointed by the Supreme Court, This statement is not accurate. The Supreme Court didn't appoint the President. What the Supreme Court did was ruled to stop the recount in Florida. The Supreme Court does not have the power in the Constitution to appoint a president. For wha...

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

I would like to think that we will be much further along in 10 years. But history doesn't support that dream. I attended the Million Skirted Men march in NYC in February, 2004. It was organized by the late Tom Manuel, who ran the original version of this board called Tom's Cafe. This event received ...

I don't call it rewriting history. I call it history as it was meant to be written.

Re: How old were you . . . . ?

I remember entering kindergarten and noticing that the girls wore skirts or shorts but the boys only wore shorts. I asked my parents why and they said because that's the way it is. I remember as early as 8 years old wanting to wear skirts. Our Social studies textbook had a picture of a man from anot...

Re: Wendy Williams backlash over "men in skirts and heels"

I watched the video. Wendy Wiliams is entertainment for a mostly female audience. She usually says it like it is. But I think this was more for comic value and not a serious statement. I wasn't offended by it.

Re: Wearing high heels

I've worn high heels- 2.5 inch pumps. The trick to buying heels is selecting shoes that are flexible. They have to bend. I like the way my body walks in them and they make me feel sexy.

Maybe someone can explain this to a yankee from across the pond. Why is Brexit such an inflammatory topic?

I remember when our flame wars were over topics like braveheart vs freestyles. Or if a kilt is a type of skirt. And I have battle scars from those flame wars. How times have changed.

Re: Mexico City schools adopt gender neutral uniforms

Like Sinned stated I also was envious of what the girls could wear to school. Ironically they were forced to wear skirts in my day and probably envied the boys as well for not having to wear skirts. New York winters can be quite cold. As for boys in skirts being bullied, if there is a critical mass ...

Mexico City schools adopt gender neutral uniforms

School students in Mexico City can now wear gender neutral uniforms. There doesn't appear to be a requirement to identify as transgendered.

Re: Our joint Facebook Account.

I'm so anti-Facebook. I keep connected to the important and supportive people in my life by text, phone and in person when possible. Facebook has shown that they respect advertising revenue over your privacy. Their advertisers are the customers, not the users. I would be concerned that my pics could...

Re: Can skirts coexist with a belly?

There are some good suggestions here. I will look into the elastic belt. Sinned suggested wearing a dress. I've always felt that dresses don't hang well on straight male bodies. However, it may be worth trying anyway to see if it works for me.
