Re: Texas electric
In 2012, the New York City area suffered devastation from Superstorm Sandy. When Congress voted on an aid package, the congressional delegation from Texas didn't find it in their hearts to help. I hope that the congressional delegation from New York will return the favor.

Re: Perhaps a Civil Saving Solution
People must cooperate and listen to each other. There should be a fair exchange of ideas and ears that are open and a brain that is not judgmental. It would not be desirable to allow people to pontificate their views on each side with no meeting in the middle.

Re: Sick and Tired
Moon and Jenn- as I posted on this thread- I lost a lot of love for Trump after Charlottsville when I felt he didn't speak out against the white supremacist groups. His statement was very late and extremely weak. But January 6 was the turning point. It was awful to see the Capitol building vandalize...

Re: Sick and Tired
To Jenn- have you considered addressing your concerns with the moderator privately? I would hate to see you go. You've had insightful comments over the years. Also it's rare to find an approving woman here or anywhere in the male skirt wearing universe.

Re: Sick and Tired
I had thought the Off-Topics section is for anything not pertaining to men wearing skirts.
From the home page: "Non-fashion, non-skirt, non-gender discussions. If your post is related to fashion, skirts or gender, please choose one of the forums above for it."

Re: Sick and Tired
People disagree and that's what makes America great. I've found the political discussions to be civil and thought provoking. And they are placed in the Off-topic part of the site. Must people throw out the baby with the bath water? It can be good to be exposed to other points of view, as it can be g...

Re: Womens underwear
I've been to ballet performances where the male dancers wear dance tights that show a male profile. This is an artistic performance and not normal street wear. However people do not seem offended by it.

Re: Womens underwear
I'll open a can of worms. First let me apologize in advance to Carl who allows a lot of leeway before putting on the mod hat. I know women who wear short skirts expecting their undergarment to be seen and choose style and color accordingly. It may be above the hemline but it's meant to be seen. The ...

Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election
I was an early commenter on this thread explaining why I liked Donald Trump. But that was until yesterday. Today I have no respect for anyone who incites a riot on our democracy, then steps back letting others respond to his call, then gives a belated and weak appeal to his minions to go home. A con...

Re: What a Stalin Quote About Rigging Elections Reveals About the 2020 Election
Moon- you just learned that State legislatures can choose their electors regardless of the popular vote? There is no popular vote in the Constitution. There never was. It's been that way since 1789. Article 2 section 1- Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, ...

Re: Killed for wearing a dress
Moon, Carl and the others- you've all made good points about not living in fear and giving in to ignorant people. But let's respect Ralph's right to feel the way he does, and his right to do, or not do, what he feels is right in a given situation. That's his right. Ralph says he'd rather back down f...

Re: A Sincere Request of Help from Those Who Disagree with My Politics
This has become a lively thread and everyone is showing civility. I feel I dont have a vested interest in who wins. Our constitution with its division of power and various checks and balances ensures that life goes on. So while I may prefer one candidate over another I'm not too concerned about who ...

Re: A Sincere Request of Help from Those Who Disagree with My Politics
I've usually felt that I don't have to defend or even reveal how I'm voting. But you asked and it is a sincere request so I will reply. Note that I've never registered in a political party and I live in a state that therefore doesn't allow me to vote in primaries. Also understand that my state is ve...
