That looks very good, but as usual, if they would ship to the Netherlands, the question is does it fit? t. To return it would be more expensive than perhaps selling it here.
BUT if you get the size right, and the shipping cost is low, then it certainly is very interesting, at least there seems to be much choice!

A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.

The question is what is your wasit size? What size did you order? And how well did it fit you?imadube wrote:As far as if it would fit, I found that they link users to the manufactures size charts. The perfect skirt -
Hi,
It maybe a nice skirt, but hardly perfect. As soon as you start putting items in those large pockets,it will probably go out of shape. Why do most skirts not have pockets,?---why do women carry handbags?. To put keys, phones and everything else in---to stop skirt going out of shape. Personally, I hate all shorts, but that is me.
Regarding buying clothes from USA, they don't like selling them to other countries---putting tax or legal obstacles in the way. Can't think of right terms, but the US members of this forum will know.

I ordered a 12, and it fits great. Just like I had hoped so.

Don't make the US seem like the bad guys here, believe me the US Merchants would be happy to sell to anyone - shipping costs and import/export fees is what holds the market of International trade in check and unbalance. As my experiance is 7 years of European living taught me - the tax/import/export fees between Euro countries is crazy. Ever bought a chair in Gemany and tried to cross into Holland without paying more in taxes then you bargined for? I have - 13 years ago the import tax to Holland from Germany for a private citizen was almost as much as the chair cost in the first place.

Well, if you interested in wearing skirts as a replacement for shorts/pants - then why not have pockets and put things in them? If all your doing is replacing the two legged clothing right? Or do you want to wear them the same exact way ladies do - in that case go all the way and be a trannie.
Same as shorts or pants - Got pockets, then darn it use them. If you put the same things in your cargo shorts would that not alter the shape as well?
If you are saying that wearing skirts means you have to carry a hand bag, then I guess we all MUST shave our legs too.
Wearing clothing in a male manner means to not think, behave, feel, or look like a woman.

Real kilts don't have pockets, that is what the sporan is about, and maybe more...
Why do most women's skirts have no pockets or not even belts? I think it is all to do with styling, and body line. I wear many women's skirts myself, and find it quite comfortable not having those bulges from purses, handkerchiefs and what ever, and having no belt is really quite comfortable.
Then the line which skirts give, are clean and pleasant. That is one property that skirts have, in combination with suitable upper clothing, they give pleasant lines to the body, completely different than pants do.
Posibly there are more reasons for pants with pockets and skirts without them, historically, but I don't know that. I also don't see any reason not to have pants without pockets. It has nothing to do with manliness.
But we men are used to the bulkiness of them when filled, that we find it normal. I found it handy on vacation to wear cargo pants, as on vacation you tend to carry more things on you than you otherwise would, so pockets are handy, although having them filled increases the uncomfort of the bulges, and weights dangling on the pants. Just as I imagine skirts with pockets, especially cargo pockets, handy but at the same time uncomfortable.
If you have need of a bag for things which don't fit in the pockets, then why not put everything in the bag, and have no uncomfortable bulges in your pants? Except one bulge which most men have, and that's got nothing to do with pockets
That same bulge is sometimes apparent whwen wearing skirts.

I love skirts with pockets.
The pockets give me a place to put my hands when I don't know where to put my hands. They give me "emergency" space when I need it. If I only need to carry a couple of things, I don't have to drag along a handbag.
For example, from when I was working, if a colleague gave me a short document I could fold it up, stick it in a pocket and have my hands free.
The building where I used to work had a number of amenities so that we wouldn't have to go out. There was a cafeteria, a deli, a pizzaria, a dry cleaner, an ATM and a shop where you could buy toiletries small items and drop off prescriptions. (The prescriptions would be filled off-site and returned the next day.
So if I wanted to withdraw money, I could put the bankcard in my pocket and then the bankcard and money in my pocket. If I wanted to buy something, I'd just stuff some cash in a pocket. No need to tote around a handbag.

I have a few skirts without pockets, a mini and two sarongs plus a couple of "traditional design" kilts. The sarongs are mostly worn around the house for kicking about of an evening and so are not an issue but, despite liking the pocketless mini for its cut, fit and colour, I rarely wear it, just because it does not have a pocket for a key, let alone a small wallet.
If I want to carry a bag it's no problem but I usually try to keep clutter to a minimum in which case a bag is overkill and a nuisance. With a kilt I usually wear a jacket or gillet with pockets or use a small gadget bag or larger bum bag worn "sporran style". I refuse to wear a sporran unless I'm in full formal dress because I find the way they bump against my anatomy is uncomfortable.
For me, a perfect skirt would have pockets for keys, a small wallet and a mobile phone and would be cut so that using the pockets did not cause me to stab myself with a key when I sit down.
Have fun,
Ian.

If just a key (or a small key-chain) is all you need you can try hanging it around your neck on a lanyard in the same manner as Cessna and his spectacles. Too, don't overlook pockets on the upper half of the body; I frequently carry my wallet in my shirt packet underneath my waistcoats.Milfmog wrote:For me, a perfect skirt would have pockets for keys, a small wallet and a mobile phone and would be cut so that using the pockets did not cause me to stab myself with a key when I sit down.

Perfect Skirt
Hi,
Seems like my views and opinion have once again been shot down in flames in here. When someone announces a perfect skirt, it maybe to him or some others, but not to me. I don't like all the long stuff that is shown here, but I do not comment, as it is up to the person whatever they want to wear. A skirt without pockets LOOKS better to me, -cleaner lines with no bulges, thats all I meant.
Just because I like clear cut lines in skirts etc, does not mean I want to be a trannie, as imadude suggested.
Regarding buying from USA--I have tried to buy stuff from Amazon and related companies frequently, but sellers were either not interested/not allowed. No attempt was made to make US as bad guys. See Leather Skirt post here.

Greg,
I agree, the comment was uncalled for. We are all supposed to be friends here, right? If we can't accept each others preferences with respect to skirt wearing, how can we expect the rest of the muggle world to accept us?

Re: Perfect Skirt
Isn't that the point of this topic, though? Where women have (had?) been so advantaged for so long ('til 'tr*user tyranny' struck with a vengeance) has been to wear whatever style of skirt suited each and every particular occasion.Gregg1100 wrote: When someone announces a perfect skirt, it maybe to him or some others, but not to me.
There's no doubt that most chaps have got so used to pockets, that they represent an 'essential' element in their choice of skirt. Even those of us who are to a degree essentially 'pocket orientated' would accept/wear a non-pocketed skirt around the house, garden as opposed, say, to around the estate, would they not? As a bi-product of "no pockets", I've found that, even when tr*usered, I tend not to use the pockets at all if I'm wearing a jacket or coat.
As for length, that is just as likely to be 'weather dependent' as for any perceived 'fashion' reason. Similar arguments could be used for the material used, of course. I'm sure those who enjoy dancing have equally valid reasons for declaring, "a perfect skirt!"
However, once one steps out of the "activity" scenario, then it could be regarded (by some) as taking the game to a different level, and to all intents and purposes, probably outside the realm of this forum(?).
