The Lady Took a Picture

Post by rp »

First Intro: Hello I am new to the board, not so new to "skirting". I wear them whenever I am comfortably closeted from friends and family. No kilts I have to say... just haven't had the opportunity to shop for them.

Anyway, I was in the motor vehicle department renewing the registration on my car, dressed simply with a mid thigh beige skirt from Walmart, nothing special. A lady came in behind me, smiled at me... not uncommon. Then, as I am facing the clerk, there is flash of light coming from behind me. I turn around, and there she is with her camera phone, snapping a picture of me.

I guess the look of surprise on my face was enough to couch a remark from her. She proclaimed, "you look great! I have been trying to get my husband to try out a skirt." I politely smiled and said, "thanks" and finidhed my business....

Has that ever happened to anyone else?

rp: That sounds like in incredible experience. I haven't been here all that long myself, so stories like yours fascinate me no end. More power to you!

Yes, amazing story! Someone elsewhere mentioned yesterday it would only be a matter of time before such an image was put on youtube. I think it's great!

A couple of years ago I got to upstage Van Gough!

I was admiring a work of his at the MET in NYC while wearing my black workman's UK and a couple of ladies asked if they could take my picture.

My daughter, wife, sister-in-law & family were there also.
Most of the time I didn't notice anyone's reaction there.

Around the same time, I was in a women's clothing store with my wife, and a couple of women from back East (there for the HSU graduation) found me interesting enough to ask for a photo also.

I guess being a 'tourist attraction' is better than putting up with ugly looks and comments. :D

You didn't mention if you told her about this place, but I take those opportunities to 'spread the word'... sometimes ad nauseum... sad to say

It would have been nice if she spoke positively first then asked for the picture. Skirted men aren't scenery! Glad it didn't ruffle you, RP and welcome to posting.

Frankly I think it is really rude to take a picture of someone without their permission.

I really do not like these camera phones. I have seen my work mates using theirs to take picture of "hot women" who are just women going about their business, just doing it in a female body.

I would not too much appreciate someone just snapping a picture of me in one of my outfits. If they asked, then I'd oblige.

I would worry about what use that picture would get.

All,

I've been wearing skirts in public for a number of years now, and people do take my picture now and again. Usually, it's a positive experience and I end up feeling flattered.

One time at a bus stop, a young woman saw me and excitedly took a picture, thinking that I couldn't see her. As it was, I just noticed out of the corner of my eye. A week later she saw me again and shyly asked if she could take a shot. I smiled and said sure!

Gee whiz, she sure was young and pretty. As a very middle aged man, I found that it really made my day.
