Skirt (?) Sighting in Albertslund

Post by Stu »

Last week, I was in Denmark. My youngest daughter and I were walking to a local supermarket in a suburb of Copenhagen called Albertslund when we both saw a guy with a baby boy in a pushchair close to a kiosk. The man was very muscular and tattooed - he looked as though he would be a biker or something like that. He had ginger hair and a very short, pointed ginger beard - a bit like King Charles I - and was either fat or overly muscular. He looked like the sort of bloke you wouldn't want to mess with! When I first saw him, he was crouched down attending to the baby - wiping the kid's face or something. I could see straight away that he was wearing leggings like those you normally only see on women, and the lower portion of his thick calves were visible along with his sandals. Then he got up and walked to the back of the pushchair and away from me. At that point I saw that he appeared to be wearing a very short white denim skirt with a frayed hem! I couldn't swear it actually was a skirt because he was also wearing a sleeveless jacket and so if there was a waistband, it was obscured from my view. But what i could see from the rear was unbifurcated, white denim, with a vertical seam down the middle, a "distressed" hem and it came about to his mid-thigh. He was wearing those men's sandals that have proper straps and heels and he had a tattoo on his left ankle.

Interesting - and unexpected!

What a cool sounding dad, or maybe he was just the nanny. Did your daughter have any comment about his look, Stu?

I quietly pointed him out to her and she looked at me as if to say, "yeah? so what?"

In fairness, she has seen plenty of skirted guys in her 12-years, me especially, so it's probably a non-event so far as she is concerned.

A non-reaction is great news. I'm realizing what a gift it is to the future as skirted men show their kids what normal encompasses.
