Well, at one & a half hours to run, it hasn't had a bid! :shake: I would conjecture that putting the word "Crossdresser" in the Item Description will have only succeeded in putting off most potential customers. Would it not?

Yes - I agree. Having the word "crossdresser" in there would put off both men and women in my opinion. Why have that in there? It hasn't sold anyway.

It's a skirt. Just an item of clothing. It is not designed for a crossdresser any more than it is designed for a policeman (or policewoman!) - if you see what I mean. It's just clothes. Leave it to the potential customer to decide who it is best suited for.

I don't like it. I don't like flaired stuff - but that's just me. I'm built like a drainpipe, so a flaired skirt would make me look like an upside-down lollypop! :D

If you look he has listed it under 'Listed in category: Clothes, Shoes & Accessories > Women's Clothing > Shirts & Blouses > Size 16'.
How wrong can you get.
Womens Clothing?
Shirts & Blouses?
Size 16?

When he has stated it is for a cross dresser - presumably then it is for a man (unless women wearing skirts nowadays is so rare it is classed as crossing dressing).
It is not a shirt or a blouse it is a skirt
It is not size 16 it is size 18

he deserves not to sell it and he has had to relist it.

Hatred is learned, not inherited. Let a little child from Iraq play with a child from the United States, and they will play together without a care in the world. Put the children back in their homes and their parents and the media will teach them hate and prejudice.

Flared Denim Skirt--Size 18

Post by Gregg1100 »

Hi
I liked it. It was cheap, it was new, and in a general mans size. It would have fitted me. I just thought it may interest others, that is why I posted it. Can`t say I will bother again.
What does it matter if an ad says crossdresser, Pirelli, or Sydney harbour bridge. If it will fit, and one likes it, and is reasonably cheap, fair enough. If not, ignore it. Too much analysing going on in here---perhaps thats why Lars jacked it in and left.

I would like to point out that a US 16 is equivalent to a UK 18, and that this size fits someone with a 38 Inch waist. How I know this I could not imagine.

Now that's a real shame. You've missed the point of the subsequent posts. No-one is 'analysing' the garment, just the reason(s) why it didn't 'sell' - either physically or 'literally'. Surely, it is one of the main 'standpoints' of this forum, that we do not consider ourselves 'crossdressers'?

As for 'linking' to Lar's departure, I strongly suspect he had/has other, more personal issues, to come to terms with. Shame, he used to be a very valuable member of this forum...............

Don't discount full skirts so quickly. True, a flared mini might make your "drainpipe" shape look like a topsy-turvy lollipop, but take a look at my avatar -- that's a flared skirt on a 6'4" bloke weighing in at 185 pounds ("standpipe shaped").

There's only one way to find out -- try stuff on. The coarsest of measurements can be had by taking a string and wrapping around your waist; take that string, fold it in half, and take it with you when you're looking for skirts. That string, still folded, when compared to the top portion of a skirt will be a decent first idea of what might fit. Do bear in mind, however, that this is not the only measurement that counts.

Personally, I hope Lar is doing well. He was one of the pioneers of MIS here in the US, and I miss his input to the forum -- after all, he's got some of the earliest "been there, done that" credentials on the left side of "the pond".

Flared Denim Skirt--Size 18

Post by Gregg1100 »

Hi,
You missed my point.
I wasn't on about analyzing the garment. I was on about the whyfors about whether it was meant for a crossdresser, male or female. Like I said, if the item looked ok, was new, and reasonably priced, then it could have made someone happy in here.
That is why I posted the ebay item in the first place. TO HELP SOMEONE. If I didn't have enough skirts here as it is, I would have bought it myself. Then I wouldn't have posted it on here, and not had an inquest as to whether horror of horrors, it was meant for someone who uses skirts. Personally I don't give a toss if advert said crossdresser or not, for reasons stated above. Incidently, I only wear skirts, not into kilts(different name for a skirt), but would respect anyone elses choice of garment. Not for me to say whether they are right or wrong--their choice, my choice-all there is to it.
As for Lars--yes, I hope he is doing well. He sent in some good posts.
I will not post any more items if seen advertised again.

Yes, I think we all understood the humour in the event that if a female bought it, would they be considered a crossdresser! :) And, yes, it was an interesting item - for whoever. I suspect that most folk responded to the fact that the link clearly showed that the seller apparently expected it to be bought by someone would considered themselves to be a 'crossdresser' - otherwise, why advertise it so? You're right - OK item, new, reasonably priced. No-one is contesting that! What (I think) those of us who responded felt was that, "Oh, my gawd! No way am I going to be seen bidding for a 'crossdresser's' item". Which is probably why it didn't sell to any other eBayer, either! Your initial post certainly gave the impression that that was what you were drawing our attention to!!!!!!!
