After two changes of train, soon after leaving Edinburgh Waverley station, the highlight of the route comes into view as we cross the Forth Bridge. The guy across the table I was sitting at, maintained that his great, great grandfather was a painter on the bridge... He also liked my style, so I am sure he was legit?

You don't get a great view of the bridge, but the thrill is in crossing the Forth Bridge, such a great piece of engineering.

So after a short walk from Aberdeen station, I found my hotel, right next to the Slains Castle Pub, where the main event was taking place the following day.

That evening I met up with Stevie and we had dinner together. After an excellent steak and conversation, we both left that night to paint our nails. Instead of nails, I managed to get in touch with DrFishnets and we had over an hour on the phone chatting about skirts and life. Due to medical issues, the Dr was not able to attend the event, but we at lease got to talk. So the nails were done the follow in morning in the early sunshine. The polish is one my daughter got for me, last Christmas and is a loverly shimmering blue.

So the event was in the afternoon, so what to do for the morning. I live many miles from the sea, so being in a costal town and with the sun shining, the beach seemed an obvious choice. Getting there was interesting as I also wanted to see the port of Aberdeen. At one point I found myself walking down a road with no path(sidewalk) with on coming traffic. The port is fenced off for security, but I did see ships. Eventually I found the beach where most people on it, were walking dogs. Years ago when I was dressing in private, dog walkers were the bane of my life, always tuning up when you thought you had found a quiet spot for an outside walk. However now in my public and free skirt wearing period, they are no longer a problem.

Of course I had no bucket and spade, but I still got to play with the sand and try action shots...

Eventually, all fun has to cone to an end and the event was getting near. But first a spot of lunch in a Spoons, where I found they serve Haggis on a pizza, when in Scotland.... I also found the place full of people in kilts, turns out there had been some form of military parade. Not all of the kilt wearers were men, but they all looked good in the full regalia. While I was eating, a guy came up to my table and shook my hand, smiled and left. Very odd, but he obviously liked me, so no worries.

So the event. This is obviously Stevie's story to tell, so I won't spoil it, but we had a great time and I met Susie, who is a great lady. I also met Big and Bashful who is a great man.
It was good to spend time with people who were all connected to Stevie in some way and hear some of the stories from their lives. After the event, we continued the party in a local Indian restaurant into the evening. The previous evening I had asked Stevie, what level of Mouse style should I bring to the event, since I did not want to embarrass anyone. I was told to wear what ever I liked, so I wore this....

Yes that is my translucent blue latex skirt over a petticoat, with fishnet tights over black tights, with a waist corset belt, a white short sleeve leotard and DM heels. I debated boots, since I had brought some 6" and 4" heels. The 4" DMs won, since the yellow of the fishnets and the yellow of the 6" boots clashed. Also the road outside my hotel and the event is all cobbles. Turns out this was the correct call for two reasons. First off, some of the ceilings in the event had low ceilings, which tall Big and Bashful found out to his cost unfortunately. Me being shorter and only in 4" heels, just missed. The Indian we retired to, was quite a walk up Union street, so 4" block heels of the DMs were easier on the varied surfaces of the Aberdeen street than 6" stilettos.
Bringing 6" boots all the way to Scotland and not wearing them seemed a missed opportunity, so rising Sunday morning and the sun still shining a morning walk was decided upon with one of my skirts which I had brought, if I had decided against the latex. This is Union street in Aberdeen on a Sunny Sunday morning.

So this has been a loverly three day jaunt. I would like to thank Stevie and Susie for setting up the event and inviting me to attend. The whole trip has been under taken while wearing clothes I love to wear and feel free in. I now sit in the coffee shop that is part of my hotel, having breakfast made from "The greatest sandwich in the world"!!! According to this coffee shop you know. I am still wearing 6" boots, leotard and skirt and I feel top of the world to match the sandwich. I will change to my Birkenstocks for the journey home, since I have limited time between train connections and I am a wimp/sensible, your choice!

Mouse at Play and very happy!
