There are a number of hanging mono rails in Europe, but Wuppertal is the oldest.
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

I first noticed it from a train between Cologne and Hanover, many years ago -- it's very striking. But I've never had an opportunity to go there for a ride on it :-(
