Aren't we forgetting something?

Post by Uncle Al »

AREN'T WE FORGETTING SOMETHING :?:

MOD HAT - ON

:soapbox:

When members joined our Skirt Cafe Community, they agreed to abide by a minimalistic
set of rules or guidelines. I expect the members to uphold their agreements of, and to,
these rules/guidelines.

A reminder: RULES

Rule # 2. No politics, unless related to skirts/kilts. No religion, unless related to skirts/kilts.
These topics were banned because they lead to endless flame wars.

Rule # 6. No discussion of artificial body parts or pieces of clothing meant for body parts that
men do not have. That is not men's fashion.

Rule # 6 has been 'bent' due, and for, medical discussions.
See In the News / Advocacy: Gynecomastia (Man Boobs)
More information can be found at Johns Hopkins Medical: Gynecomastia
IMHO, these discussions are essential for men and needs to no longer be hidden by society.

Just like Breast Cancer in women, MEN CAN GET BREAST CANCER, TOO :!:

Now, Rule # 2 needs to be enforced because this community is about Skirts/Kilts for men.
Political divides have ruined on-line communities. WE DO NOT NEED THIS AT SKIRT CAFE'

Please remember: These Rules and Guidelines have been put into place for a reason.
Let's keep our Skirt Cafe' Community free from political discourse and flame wars.

End of :soapbox:

MOD HAT - OFF

Men CAN have enlarged breasts as I do. I say in that case the discussions of bras could be limited to only those cases. There should be NO discussions about breast forms or other artificial fillers.

Thank you for the reminder, Uncle Al.

I've been noticing the encroachment of politics recently and will stay away if that continues. The other fora that have my attention deal with airplanes.

Something I have seen tried, but which doesn't work-setting aside a specific thread for flame wars. In effect, quarantining politics from the rest of the forum. Didn't work though, politics would soon reappear in other threads.

For forums not intended for politics, the only way I have seen that works is for moderators to virtually ban politics.

I thought the US politics ran for a long time in a number of threads, with moderators joining in, however a bit of light hearted UK King chat was soon squashed.....

We could squash stuff outright, but don't like exerting a heavy hand.

I find the discussions on the British monarchy interesting mainly because of the number of factions.

In the US, it's members of one "church" facing off against members of the other, frequently with much vitriol. This makes it unseemly, and from a personal perspective I'd like to squash that in its entirety because it violates the old civil standard of "being able to agree to disagree" and not take things personally.
