Converse are making Knee boots again
Converse are making Knee boots again
I have always wanted a real pair of tall Converse. I have had to settle for copies by strange brands up to now, but Converse have now started making them again. This time they have a heel zip. I am not sure why, but I really like boots with a heel zip, so it is a no brainer for me to snag a pair.

Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
I must have weird ankles or a weird leg shape, but every time I try on a pair of knee-high boots, I inevitably send them back as the boots never get narrow enough and the material flops and is all saggy. Please review these as they are curious (though I'll likely pass).
Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
Well with boots where you have laces as well as a zip, there is obvious a way to adjust the fit, with in limits, from foot to knee. I will report back when they arrive.Coder wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 12:44 pm I must have weird ankles or a weird leg shape, but every time I try on a pair of knee-high boots, I inevitably send them back as the boots never get narrow enough and the material flops and is all saggy. Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
I really love those knee boots. Unfortunately I’m a mens UK size 11 and they have sold out. Anyway if they come back in stock I’ll buy a pair as I think they will look good with thick black tights and a pinafore dress.
My name is Arty. I’m a guy with a passion for wearing skirts, dresses and tights and a hobbiest musician and artist.

Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
They show in-stock on the USA web site. I had to look under "women" to find them. Listed there as "unisex". Comments recommend down sizing 1/2 size. For me I normally wear a US men's 9.5. So I would have to order a size 9 which is US women size 11.
I have two knee high boots in women size 11. One has just a zipper. The other is laced but a zipper on the side for easy on-off. Lace it up once and them use the zipper. My first knee-high boot was lace only. What a pain to put on and take off. Had to unlace most of it to get the boot off. All of my boots have a low 1" heal.
Would like to see other companies come out with men's knee high. Or at least go the unisex route and list both sizes. Just converting women sizes is works for me but if you wear a man size larger than 9 you are out of luck. Most women sizes I found only go up to 11.
Have not decided if I am going to order a pair. I would go with the black one if I did. Will have to think about it.

They are also making a cool mary-jane style as well, but very limited sizing.

Seems to be only available on the US site and as you say, not many sizes.brennk wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 2:57 pm They are also making a cool mary-jane style as well, but very limited sizing.

Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
I like the look, but I don't think it is a style that would suit me - I'd struggle to put a rig together around that footwear. Will be interesting to see if they offer this style in more colours.
Romainfashion and newdandy21 (Instagram) both wear ankle-high Converse and have some great looks that I'd like to emulate some day.
I really wish that traditional knee-length boots were available in larger shoe sizes. I have a pair off eBay that I can wear around the house, but they would be too tight around the toes if I ever wanted to wear them out and about. I once managed to get a pair of knee-high boots that fitted me in the foot, but the calf size was comical - I could almost get both of my legs into one boot
hike.in.a.skirt (Instagram again) has a post where he is wearing a striped tee, green canvas skirt, tights, brown suede knee-high boots. I hope to match this look some day if I can find a source for boots.

Mouse - they look a bit too utilitarian for the look I'm aiming to achieve. The way forward might be to get some proper equestrian boots, but at multiple hundreds of $$$'s, I'd want to make sure that I'd wear them out and about and I'm not sure I'm quite there at the moment

Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
I saw those in the mall the other day, thought about them.
Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
So I got a delivery....
I spent the next half hour lacing boots, since only the first few holes come ready laced. I worked at keeping the laces flat across each layer and there are two loops on the tongue that the laces go through at the appropriate layer. When I was happy it was a time for a trip to Tescos.

As you can see, the laces allow you to fit the width of the boot to your shape. It appears that I have a high arch in the foot, small ankles and expanding legs.

As with all tall boots, the ankle area crinkles when the leg moves forward of the foot, but is ok when the foot is extended.

The boots are very white, but the inside is cream colour, or "natural" as the box points out.

There is a zip down the back, so you only have to do the laces once. This design keeps both sides of the boot clear as a normal Converse boot with the logo in the normal place.
The size of these boots on the box is UK9 EUR42.5 CM27.5 MENS9 WOMENS11 UNISEX. The boots are made in Vietnam. The part number is A10456C CTAS XX-HI WHITE/NATURAL IVORY/BLACK.
I am pleased with my new boots and it gives me another colour to play with. They also feel better than my other tall Converse type boots that I have.

The XXLHi (knee boots) are currently available in all sizes and all colours on the UK site with free UK postage. I have been wearing these for many years, I buy my normal men's size , they are superbly comfy and fit me well.Mouse wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 3:50 pmSeems to be only available on the US site and as you say, not many sizes.brennk wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 2:57 pm They are also making a cool mary-jane style as well, but very limited sizing.

Re: Converse are making Knee boots again
That is good to know. When they first came out the black sold out fast which is why I got the white. I may have to snag a set of black. Be nice if they made other colours. Purple set would be a no brainer.
