Another skirt

Post by Mouse »

Yes I am at it again with another skirt for another party. This time I am using ultra thin 0.2 mm purple latex. I am making the skirt shorter to fit a white petticoat with black edging. I want the black edging to just peak out the bottom. The picture shows my first attempt. The next thing to do is to put a strengthening ring of black 0.5mm latex round the hole where the white dots are. This is where, things went wrong. The latex glue makes the latex roll up and the whole edge round the hole did this into a total mess that I could not get to work since this latex is so thin. I therefore cut another skirt circle out, but this time I stuck the black ring to the middle of the skirt before I cut the hole in the centre. I thus learnt that working with 0.2 mm latex needs more thought in construction order.

Despite the difficult making, I worked out how to glue this really thin latex successfully and I was really pleased with the result. The skirt just floated over my petticoat as I wanted and the thinness of the latex flowed really well. The whole outfit for the party.
