moth damage

Post by Tazzmac »

G'day all...Just getting the odd kilt or two out of storage from winter ...Checking them over and horrified to find one of my favourites has managed to develop three little holes since I last checked ... Only about 5-7 mm wide but wondering if they can be fixed or do I just put up with them ..It's pretty old and one of the first I ever bought ..Any tips or advice greatly appreciated ...Already warming up and we are expecting 24 Celcius in the next few days ..That's pretty warm for September in this neck of the woods and excited to consider kilts again so early . (usually October ) ..They are tipping a hotter than usual summer too...also means big likelyhood of bushfires as well ...Cheers..

I don't have a cure and hence I am keen on prevention. Every winter I go about smelling of napthalene because I store most of my woolen garments in a trunk containing the slow release chemical. Sometimes an item gets left out too long and holes will appear, in which case I just wear it anyway encouraging sympathy with "Gee, that is a nice jumper, such a pity about the moth damage".
