Has anyone else worn a really short skirt out and about

Everyone has differing opinions of shortness of skirt,

I wear a lot of skirts and have worn every hem length under the sun... and I am happy in a miniskirt.
I am wondering if anyone else has worn a very short skirt out to work - or out to a large party etc...
Anyone else experienced the power of, and the fear of being in a very short skirt?

The shortest skirt I have worn was deliberately very very short and I wore it to a large private party perhaps 5 years ago - kind of the school uniform party event with some racy overtones.... It was overall really empowering ! I didn't alter the skirt - it was intended that length.

Since then I haven't worn a skirt that short again but I still wear minis every week. (I would if the circumstances warranted it again)

What do you call very very short?
The shortest I've got is 6" but have only worn that to the beach which was a nudist beach so it soon came off anyway

Similar hemline to the left pic - or shorter too. The one I wore was shorter.
Thinking like short shorts/ cheeky even if that makes sense.

The skirt I wore was 9.5 '' but worn on my waist it was designed to only just cover my derriere, so it was quite revealing - any moving around was like wearing short shorts I suppose. It was one of those racy plaid mini skirts

I ve got one of those MZF but not be only worn it while driving with a very interesting response on one occasion. I was stuck in slow moving traffic when I noticed a truck in the next lane keeping pace. When I slowed down so did he. When I speeded up he did as well. I realised he could see directly into my cab and was checking me out. For what reason I can only speculate. There was no chance of covering up so I chose the opposite and hitched it up. If he wanted a show so be it.
My initial embarrassment turned to a feeling of empowerment

The shortest skirt I have worn in public was not even a normal skirt. I made a wrap around skirt for the beach. It was also quite short, 32 cm (12.5"). Between the parking lot and the beach I changed from my "normal" skirt into that short skirt and walked through the dunes to my spot at the beach. On the way home, when I changed back into my regular skirt, I lost balance while partly in the skirt and ripped the front seam wide open. The skirt was really out of commission. So I had to wear the very short wrap around skirt to my car and later to the gasstation. It was also quite windy and I needed my fanny pack to keep the front flap from blowing open.

At the gasstation it was a service station (because the state of New Jersey thinks people are too stupid to pump gas by themself. So I could stay in the car. But it was also hot that day and I wanted a drink. After some time I mustered enough courage and went in. I got my drinks from the fountain and walked to the automated register. After the operation I had to bend over to get my change from the machine. Just in time I remembered to kneel down. It felt quite scary but also exciting. I must have traces of exhibitionism in my system. ;(

Heck that is a MAXY-Mini - nothing like nzfreestyler's red almost micro-mini.
Of course where the mini is worn on about the waist is critical -
certainly not like a kilt worn at the navel waist -
then the mini would be like a cumber bum sash !

Shortest I've done was 16". I usually do about 18-19". Worn at the navel, hem comes to just above the knee. Worn at the 2" above waist level where most high-waisted skirts are worn, my fingertips do touch the hem. These are obviously very full skirts, hence the hem length. I suspect I could probably go as short as 14" with a pencil, but I don't care for something that's tight. In fact, I may be having the latest denim skirt modified for a couple short side slits - currently has a walking vent at the back, but is the typical straight denim skirt...

I wear only minis, in denim, cotton, or plaid.
Most of my skirts are 12 inches, the shortest is 9 inches, waist to hem.
I wear them everywhere, and I always try to coordinate my outfit.

At the transit train station going home, I have to climb a steep stairway. In a denim skirt, this potentially exposes what I wear underneath. I don't like that, I try to be modest, but it doesn't always work.

A short skirt outfit from 5 years ago, today... No longer have this skirt - got permanently stained, but have a couple black ones and the orchid colored one that's identical.

Bare knees feel a bit odd to me, also with something very short I would just need to wear something under it for decency, I prefer not to.
