Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)

Hurry --- get right-sided-up --- resume the starting position --- laughing butt is not an approved program movement.
Now from the beginning --- let me emphasize cartwheels and handstands are not starting positions --- only later for the mature advanced phases !
Imagine that - someone not taking Yoga Class seriously - zen and the art of wearing a kilt !
Yeah and Uncle Al again stealing the SC limelight - Al please give proper warning when posting these !
Having a beverage about to be consumed (in mouth) is tantamount to uncontrolled spraying !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !
Actually, as a [still moderated/new] member who regularly practices yoga, I:
1)
See the humour in this and the entirely understandable smiles.
2) Actually would like to point out this is an entirely reasonable proposition - wearing a kilt to yoga - with the important proviso that measures are taken to ensure public decency is not compromised. And yes, for the headstands moves, this means wearing 'shorts' under your kilt. Surely an instance where the Scottishness/male-ness of the kilt is not being impinged. (Bearing in mind women, of whom there are 3 to every man in my classes, as well as men of sensitive disposition may be affected.)
Actually I really like the idea.

Untrue. At this point in time you are a full and proper member of the community. There is a "probationary period" for new users, mainly as an anti-spam measure, but you're well clear of that now.

Oh, thank you crfriend, for that clarification. I wasn't making a 'political' point lol, in any event. (I'm sure you didn't think I was.) Actually I 100 per cent understand any measures put in place to protect all of us.
