A while back I decided to Google the phrase "why I like skirts"
I figured I would get and abundance of hits from blogs, and misc websites. All filled with ladies praising and describing their love and joy of wearing skirts.
I was sadly dissapointed at what I found. There are a few comments, very brief, not really what I expected, I actually found more material on the web for disliking and finding skirts inconvenient and bothersome.
I guess I would see just the opposite.
Feel free to add to this list and make comments an why we like skirts.
I will get the ball rolling.
This list includes all types of skirts, so not everthing can apply to every type of skirt obviously.
Why I like skirts
1 freedom of movement
2 drape I love how full ones drape about my waist
3 heat vents in winter
4 flat lap (skirt pulled tight makes a great work surface)
5 cooling vents in summer
6 they billow in the breeze
7 my legs can touch
8 they can be fun
9 they can be formal
10 they can be casual
11(should is say it?) Twirling yes I have done that and so have you
12 in summer having the coolest seat in town.
13 no inseam to bust your boys
14 options (there are atleast 20 types of skirts) add in diffrent fabrics and colors= thousands of combinations.
15 for the DIYer easier to make that trousers

My main pleasure is the overall comfort, freedom of movement, the breeze under the skirt and the feeling of the fabric against your legs.

I wore a utility kilt to Mass this morning and as I was leaving the celebrant told me I looked great.
(pish-boom, but true story)
I should have complimented him on his snazzy outfit too but I was too slow.

FREEDOM of choice for ALL men.
Its a case of telling all men, and women too that we can all decide for our selves what we want to wear, What colours we want to wear. We no longer HAVE to feel restraint within society to conform to the view of others, so let them wear what they want, we will wear what we want. We can be the pioneers for change.

I like the way:
* I feel in my skirts and dresses.
* People respond to me
* I respond to other people, the fact they respond differently can't be due to the clothes, it's got to be something different about me. I believe that I'm happier because I'm more authentic. That leads to me being less defensive because I'm not trying to play a role that doesn't fit. That's enough to get anyone on edge. And nobody likes that kind of edgy.

More comfortable in almost all situations
I like the feel of the movement against my leg.
It shows off my legs, even better than shorts. I think I have good legs, and I see no reason not to be proud of them.

The reasons for me liking skirts are legion, but the high points include:
The airy feel they have in the summer months with lightweight fabrics,
The lovely way heavy skirts feel in the winter and are warmer than trousers,
The motion of the skirt around my legs which is very different from trousers,
The fact that a skirt can move in a different direction than I am,
The "breeze between the knees",
The fact that there is so much fabric involved allows a skirt to be more aesthetically compelling than trousers,
Skirts give me an option to express how I feel that trousers just can't, and
I enjoy fiddling with folks' heads a bit.
Put simply, I find skirts fun, and that's something that has never been said for trousers. Mixing slang, "Pants are pants."

fully appreciate a cool breeze

amazing variety of style and colour

mini skirts encourage one to lift heavy objects the correct way
easy to have a pee - important as one gets older and have to undo belt on many modern pants

I will expand on Dillon's response, however I'll say I like them because they piss off all the people that deserve to be pissed off.
The biggest reason is I love the way I look in them.
They are slightly more comfortable than regular trousers, all though I do have a pair of pajama pants that I love to wear around the house.
When I wear them I feel like I'm promoting so many different liberties to the public eye. They are my freedom flag, my protest sign, my middle finger to the establishment. I don't just talk the talk on sites like skirt cafe, I walk the walk, in the real world, in some mighty flamboyant outfits (just ask Dillon). While some may look, stare, and snicker, others may find encouragement in seeing me out, freely living my life.
I do it as a message to the broken, the beaten, and the damned that I will stand with you. A message that may become very important in the coming years.

Skirts are very comfortable,

Skirts look nice, at least when paired with a good top as well,
but if I had to chose a main reason I like skirts, it's probably because, honestly, I want to look better than I currently do. I see myself as fatter than I want to be and I try to work out and eat better so trying to look good in skirts is kinda like a goal for me.
