It doesn't surprise me for San Francisco. I only wonder if that is one of our correspondents? Skirted in SF, is that you?

Nope, not me. I think that is a rendering, I walked a block from the new store Tuesday on the way to my dentist and they still had a big crane hoisting things in (or on). That looks a lot like a SkirtCraft skirt, but mine is khaki and I haven't worn it in that part of town.

Looks too pleated to be a skirtcraft. Also not sure if it's a kilt as it just seems to have a regular shape all around. Although not being a kilt expert, I could be wrong, it does have belt loops which is somewhat rare for "women's" skirts.skirted_in_SF wrote:Nope, not me. The fact that you think it is a "rendering" is very interesting to me. As though someone placed the man in the skirt there intentionally!
Wonder what they're up to over there at the Apple?

If that's a rendering, then the art form has been taken to an entirely new level. I suspect it's a photo from a pre-opening event of some sort. Even the credit states it's a photograph.skirted_in_SF wrote:Nope, not me. I think that is a rendering,

Hi,
There is another article (yes - because apparently you can't have too many articles about an Apple store opening) and in another photo, you can see the same man in a different pose talking to someone else. I guess that this was a pre-opening press event.
Here is the link. It is the 10/14 photo - it's a panorama shot and our man is on the left.

Looks like the guy might be wearing a Mocker Utilikilt... Because of the front aprons being fairly narrow, it's more like a pleated skirt in how it hangs, instead of a 8 or 9-yard tank, which is fairly flat on the front, but very full in the rear.

I stand corrected, photo is from a press preview on May 19th. I didn't look at all the pictures from this article, but the same person can been seen in the background of #23 in this link:

edit:
just looked through the rest of the pictures and the guy is identified on picture #51.

That's wonderful! Just the kind of publicity that's needed. Skirts are cool, skirts are worn by cool men. Maybe the launch of an iSkirt is next - putting their name and logo on the next fashion revolution?
(By the way,, I don't actually think current Apple gear is cool - it's creepy. But it is highly influential and fashionable.)

After looking at the pic #51, I recognize the kilt as a Utilikilt with sporran.
