Winter GO AWAY!

Post by moonshadow »

This upcoming Saturday....

Wind....snow....gloomy...temps not out of the 30's. Freeze warnings left and right... so long spring flowers... nice knowing ya!

:x :x :x

Monday... BEAUTIFUL and in the upper 60's... (of course it is! )

Have we had nice weekends this year... yep... and I've had to work on each and every one of them.

The last two weekends I've been off from work, I've had to help Mom mend her fences to keep her two enormous dogs in. Last Saturday it was nice, and I worked harder than I have in probably 10 years. I hurt in places I didn't know existed when I got home that night.

*sighs* I could really use a nice weekend THAT'S ALL MINE!

Doesn't matter about next weekend, let it shine... let it snow... I'll be on call anyway.... :|

I'm moving to Arizona asap. Be ready Caultron... I'll probably be bringing snow with me. :!:

Well spring has sprung here about mid March. :flower: Temps in the upper 70's to mid 80's F bright sun just beautiful. Now the temps have reduced to the lower to mid 60's F. Rain and high winds. close to freezing temps at night. You know you are in the South when your heater and your air conditioner both come in the same day :!: :!: :!:

Oi! How about shipping some of that up to us Yanks in the Northeast who just got seven inches of cr@p dumped on us in the midst of sub-20-degree (F) temperatures?

I thought I was done with snow-shovelling. Nope. I wound up with a spoon in hand this morning to deal with a driveway that's a good six or eight times the size of the one I had to deal with last year -- else I'd not have gotten out, nor would have anyone else.

Thank goodness the sun is high enough that all I had to do was clear it down far enough so the pavement could catch a little sun and warm up. It's mostly dry now, but, like Moonshadow, I hurt in places I'd much rather not (and I know where all of them are from prior years of doing this).

As I commented to my landlady's boyfriend this morning -- "We're getting too old for this sh!t!" (And, yes, I was wearing a skirt -- a long heavy one -- to work in and I was perfectly warm save for my hands because I'd misplaced my gloves. Of all places, I found them in the glovebox of my car. I hate irony.)

Hmmmmmmmmmm...... that's one idea... if I can't have a nice weekend where I live, then perhaps I should just travel where the weather is nice!

More balmy temps are within a day's drive of where I'm at.

Something to think about.

I found out today that one of our Chattanooga guys put in notice today.... hmmmmmm...... something else to think about. A little warmer towards Georgia, and don't have to worry about that pesky issue of finding a new job! :)

Of course... moving away from the home base could put me at a disadvantage when promotion time rolls around.... so there's that...

Nahh.... I won't do anything until Amber graduates... then the sky is the limit!

Looks like you're about to act on my advice, Moon. The US is so big that moving South means just driving there! Where I live there's an awful lot of the briny stuff round about us, so driving more than a couple of hundred miles is a no-no.

Fortunately that same briny stuff arrives at an equable temperature, so we get very little of the white stuff that needs to be shoveled and our Spring flowers come very early.

Our problem is a lack of Sun, being so far North, so photography outdoors is bedevilled with long shadows.

Well... looks like I loose. :|

I programmed some of the regular members regions into my weather app. Looks like anywhere will be warmer than Damascus this Saturday. Fred, Dillon, hell even Carl will see temps in the 50's!

Not Moonshadow though.... 36 degrees and windy! Baaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

Caultron is the man to visit.... 85 degrees and wall to wall sunshine! Bit or a drive though. ....

Could head here:

https://www.wunderground.com/US/VA/Danville.html

47 deg F on Saturday, then 55 on Sunday.

Or,

https://www.wunderground.com/US/NC/Charlotte.html

Probably a similar distance, but fairly large city, plus 52 on Saturday, 60 on Sunday. Better for non-trousered adventures. Leave early Saturday, come back late in the day Sunday.

Maybe... I've also got some glittery tights I have yet to sport in public too.... maybe this weekend could be blessing in disguise. My last chance to wear tights (and not be hot and miserable anyway) :D

We'll see....

If so... of course, expect some photo's. :P

Or we could all just go to Fred's and party! :alien:

It would be really expensive this week as the Masters goof tourny is here. :( Like the RV park normal $30 to 36 a night :D now $100+ a night. Beer [rot gut type] $8.00 to 11.00. Don't even talk about the good stuff. :censored: But it has been around 65 to 75 degrees F during the day with a little rain mixed in. The real warm weather we had last week is gone for a few weeks.

48 degrees for a high temp here in Ohio today. The temperatures have been wavering between 40 and 60. The real problem being skirted has been the wind! It has been blowing for days now. We've had trees and power lines down with no let up in sight.

Going to be low-mid 80s and sunny today. Tomorrow, upper 70s. By the weekend, back into the upper 50s. Next week, the rain returns and we'll be back down to 52-54 deg F.

Lucky....

Imagine... spring like weather in the spring. Who'd-a-thunk-it!

All I know is this winter snap has got me all screwed up, congested, scratchy throat, icky, clammy feeling. And the heat just keeps running and running and running.

Today is going to be the worst. Well actually tomorrow is, but I don't have to work tomorrow. But today I've got to trek across parking lots all day doing the whole work thing.... better bundle up. All hunched up over the steering wheel waiting for the water in the radiator to heat up.

I want to live somewhere where summer never ends.

Sounds great! I love skirts when its windy, a warm wind would be amazing, however, here in Scotland, wind normally means cold and/or rain. Once it stops being cold, and if the rain lets up, then the midges start. I keep asking myself why I live here, then I look out of my window, across the loch and think "Oh yes! that's why I love it here"

Still, somewhere warm to swim and wear comfortable clothing would be nice!

Move South, B&B.
This year my pal who kept his boat in Turkey these last 13 years is moving her in stages West to Langedoc in France. I've signed up for the Greece via Corfu/heel & toe of Italy/Sicily/Malta leg. Probably take the best part of two weeks at the start of July.

I expect to get a large part of me very brown....
