My possible next "thing"
So for the last couple of months, I've been seriously considering taking up archery. Would like to learn to use a classic recurve bow, nothing fancy. I have no interest in hunting, but I'd like to learn the skill should the need arise in the future. In the here and now I'd just like to target practice.
I thought about getting into this a few years ago, but for some reason I never did. Now with this new interest in skirt wearing, I think the image of myself, shooting an arrow into a target, in a skirt would be AWESOME!
Diana would be proud!
Can I use AWESOME twice in the same post?
YES
That is AWESOME!

I use a Bear Alaskan with 45# pull. This is a custom recurve. I have tried the fancy compound bows but I prefer old school.
I haven't had much of an opportunity to shoot this year. I've spent more time with my throwing knives.

What is this ?
"Robin Hood Men in Green Tights" meets "The Hunger Games"
Just as a downer note - Make sure you have your very own private Sherwood Forest
to practice your new found talent - cause the authorities are treating archers as an
enemy of the public as if you were carrying a firearm.
And beware of the making a sport out of it like a local dentist here bagging a lion
in Africa !
On a brighter note matching the bow to the arrow and maintaining the equipment
can be quite an education.
Back in the early 60's I worked in an Archery company making arrows of wood and
fiberglass; also there were standard and compound fiberglass bows.
Sadly the company was ill organized and operated on a shoe (make that bow) string
budget and went belly up leaving me in the lurch for a college job.
One thing I wished I had ventured into was the CrossBow but plans changed and
the Military had better weapons to influence my aspirations.
So don't go to a fight with a knife when a gun will be the better choice - and -
don't go to battle with bow when a RPG is a better choice - but -
there is something to be said about the stealth of the bow and arrow.
As Milfmog comments here quite frequently - "Have Fun" !
Now as for wearing that "SKIRT" was practicing archery stay clear of the Hollywood
back lots least you become some sort of new found hero celebrity ! LOL
Oh what the heck just be yourself and enjoy the sport !

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Re: My possible next "thing"
All of my arrows have "field" tips opposed to hunting tips. You do need to match the arrows to the bow and also the length of the pull which is roughly the length of your arm.
Archery is a great sport and I've been involved since I was a wee lad.
