Mr. Nimoy as Mr. Spock was a man aside from his roles a individual to respect. May his soul find rest. We are the richer.

Ad Astra! Mr. Spock!

There was never a TV duo that were more well balanced than Kirk (Shatner) and Spock (Nimoy). Kirk was passionate and bold, and to some degree reckless, as contrasted to Spock's superb intellect and calculated rational actions. Would that we could have both sets of qualities in, say, a political leader? Too much to ask, I guess. The original Star Trek series is a little silly by today's standards, but when we watched it in the sixties, and in reruns in the seventies, did we truly imagine the "communicators" that fit in your pocket and flipped open to activate? Now we all have those in our pockets, with even more sophistication. We don't talk to starships, of course, but our international calls nevertheless bounce off satellites. What a futuristic genius Roddenberry was, and what well crafted and well portrayed characters he created. And how well Nimoy played that role!

One of the things that always made my nerves stand on end was when the character of Spock would say, "That's interesting." It usually foretold of unpleasantness and the demise of a few folks in red shirts.

Another wonderful piece, available if I'm not mistaken, is Nimoy's Boston which tells the story of parts of Boston (Massachusetts, USA) which no longer exist. It was filmed by his son.

I recall finding the Spock character interesting, but also in a way tragic. I have been an emotional creature from day one and cannot imagine life without emotion. It seems a bleak world indeed.

However, live long and prosper is a very, very, good benediction.

Like millions of us out there, I enjoyed Mr. Spock and the whole 'Enterprise' series immensely.

May he have a pleasant Eternal Voyage.

Hardly anyone mentions Nimoy's Mission: Impossible stint, but I loved him as The Amazing Paris.

I was just recalling that the other day. I had forgotten the character name. Thanks!

Also been mentally hearing the theremin-inspired Star Trek TV theme as performed in the first season by studio soprano Loulie Jean Norman. Stuck in my head until the next annoyance lodges itself there, LOL! Maybe I can switch to the Mission Impossible theme now...
