When I read that post, I thought it would link to the Onion. But some things are beyond satire.

I, too, wish it was a joke.

That didn't resonate well with me at all, and rather made me recall Tom Lehrer's memorable crack about his retirement from musical satire -- "A world in which Henry Kissinger can win the Nobel Peace Prize has no room for satire." Such is the insane world we live in today.

Oh, how I wish we still lived in the time of "My Home Town" and "The Old Dope Peddler" for those were simpler times indeed.

Right here and now, we seem to be living in "interesting times", both globally and locally.
We can only hope that "boring times" will be resumed as soon as possible.
If not, I can only say "May your God go with you".
The best hope is that something outside our control will force us to come to realise that conflict not an option!
