Skirtonians?
Hello!
Say who was the one to coin the word "skirtonians"? I think it's a grand word and would like to use it as a title in a paper, pamplet, or dare I say it a book covering the viability of unbifurcated garments for men. It really is only in the contemplative phase right now but it is a project I want to tackle. I realize that much has benn written and is accessable on the web but I want to present this in a way that may catch someones attention apart from a engine search on the subject. At least it will keep me from other mischef . LOL! Seriously though I think it is time for such a thing as this whether it is done by my self or someone else.
So back to the original question where does the term "skirtonian" come from?
Thank-you and as always Slainte'

Re: Skirtonians?
I believe it was a chap here who runs by the moniker "Grok". It's a good term, mind, but one that I personally find rather superfluous -- I'm just a bloke who wears skirts. Do we need a Proper Noun for the act?wsherman wrote:Say who was the one to coin the word "skirtonians"?

Re: Skirtonians?
Actually, it was not me. I don't recall who came up with "Skirtonian".
Re: Skirtonians?
I put the term skirtonians in the search box at the upper right corner and came up with 28 references to the word. The earliest being by our own Uncle Al.

Thanks to rick401r comment, I traced back to the original post.
June 14, 2008 was when I posted about "Coining new words" to
describe our goals.
The "Banter" that took place was great
To wsherman - Please feel free to use the 'term' as you wish.
If you were to give credit for the creation of the word - Thank You
If your publication is successful, please give Sir Brinkley a special 'treat'
to honor him for his help with your publication

Re: Skirtonians?
A warm Thank-you gentlemen! I'm glad that the original thread was found. I must have been suffering from a senior moment not to have thought of doing a search on the word. Duh! I shall look it up and read it today.
Uncle Al thanks for the encouragment! I'm afraid that Sir Brinkley is off treats for a bit as he went counter surfing yesterday and scored half a batch of bisquits and a part of a Blackberry cobbler, Henery the Pug got into it too when it hit the floor! By the way Henery was the one who taught my well mannered guide dog how to counter surf! *sigh* They make a very effective team! LOL!
Again my thanks.
