Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

.......and as THIS thread hasn't yet been locked I'll just carry on the speculative sequelae of Scottish independence by saying, while seriously 'locked' towards the bottom of a bottle of 12-year-old Tallisker (Isle of Skye Malt) that when 'WE' take over, the wearing of kilts for men North o' the border will be.......
Compulsory!
Since the locked thread has been mentioned here I'll note that I've been enjoying getting a vicarious ground level look at an issue that, though of interest to me, I'm too far away from to take the time to search out. The thread may have been sitting under a hammer, but, to be honest I'm a bit disappointed to see the hammer actually fall.

Since there is comment here about the locked thread, I posted what I did because skrtngtdy was making statements that he couldn't possibly corroborate which then appeared to more like propaganda. If the debate can be continued on a more even level, including posts that are stated to be personal opinion and not including wild statements about what other parties will or will not do as if they are fact then I would ask ncl l to unlock the thread as the run up to the referendum could be very interesting and possibly even educational. The Yougov poll ( at least I think it was the Yougov poll ) appears to indicate that support for the Yes vote appears to be swindling. Failing that I will bow out of the discussion, gracefully.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.
There is an interesting article on the methodology of the polls on Scottish Independence and the results that they produce here. However, please bear in mind that the article was written by one polling organisation about results published by another...
I feel sure that this will be held up as proof of dirty tricks by one side of the argument and held to be propaganda by the other. [Sigh]
Have fun,
Ian.

I noticed that the locked thread was beginning to turn nasty. I have seen this sort of thing in other forums. A thread turns into a series of insults, almost like a tennis match-back and forth, back and forth.
Yes, it WAS a bit interesting but was spiraling downward.
I've seen what this type of discussion can do to a forum and where it leads to. It Ain't Gonna Happen Here, not under my watch

Do you have any idea how much that thought appeals to me? In fact it may be one of the things I try to do when I get a chance.
We all do a little bit of "disturb the comfortable" every time we go out in public wearing anything other than the expected trousers. My bare feet also give some folks fits. In both cases, it's their problem, not mine. But I can't deny getting a warm fuzzy feeling sometimes knowing that some narrow-minded person is squirming inside because I'm not "properly dressed" to their expectations.
