Hi everyone.
I am really glad I found this site. Really do not know what to say at this point. I have always loved wearing skirts, especially long ones, for a long time now. I have never worn any out in public. The closest to that was when I wore my favorite (only own two skirts) skirt from school to the post office to check my mail. Of course we are talking about getting to the post office at about 10:30 PM, I knew there would really be no one there. My wife does not know about my love for wearing skirts. They just feel so free and great to wear.

I am located in Bellevue, Washinton (10 minutes East of Seatlle for those who don't know the area).
Have you tried any kilts (utility, sports, or traditional)? Your significant other may find those more acceptable than "skirts" and they have all the features of the unbifurcated garments you find so comfortable. Next time you are in Seattle, stop by the Utilikilts store in downtown in Pioneer Square and try one on.

Just a note about Utilikilts. I have 2 of them. I also have 3 Stillwater Kilts.
I've found that UK's are getting waaaay out of my price range. I can purchase
2 SWK's for the price of 1 UK. I'm not knocking the quality of the UK but a
more traditional kilt with easy care/fast drying materials and quality
construction can be found elsewhere. That is why I chose SWK's. They are in
Minnesota and when I placed an order on a late Friday night, I had them at my
door, in Texas, the following Tuesday. Their customer service is great
I've noticed SWK's prices have gone up a bit, but hasn't everyone's

What Al said. I used to work for Utilikilts, back in the summer of 2005. About 2-3 years ago, I could possibly swing a new UK. Now, not so much. So, if I get another, I will probably get a previously worn UK. Only way I could afford one.
I'm probably going to continue to wear regular skirts, though. Yes, that means I'm not supporting the local economy, but, for the price of one UK, you can come home with a lot of skirts, possibly with a couple that look almost exactly like a Utilikilt, but without the pockets and the snaps. Got one of those Lands End uniform skirts. Happened to have the same cut as a Utilikilt. Was $10, instead of the $150 that the Utilikilt was priced at on evilBay.

Chrisinkilt, yep. Those. Unless you're tall enough for a long Utilikilt, some hemming will need to be done to bring it to the correct length.

Thank you everyone.
So far I am leaning more towards the New Standard UK for $150, it's steep I know.
I kind of mentioned them briefly to my wife about sporting one out and about.
There was no real, "yes go for it!", or "No way!". I plan on mentioning it again real soon, especially since it is so dang hot out now.
