Solid foods!

Post by DALederle »

Today is the last day, for probably a long while, a week or more, that I can eat normally. Tomorrow I begin a clear liquid diet leading to my surgery on Friday the 16th.
I never knew how much prep they expect me to do.
Clear liquid diet and laxatives, etc. I guess it's needed. But I don't look foreward to it. At least all my doctors have okayed the surgery. I'm probably making more out of this then I have too. But I'm afraid! No way to change that. The idea of another surgery just gets to me.
Family and friends are here or will be here, with me through this problem. But I know how I will feel afterward. I guess I will just take it easy for a week or more. Since it involves my stomach I won't be able to eat for a while afterward. I expect to lose weight. That would be a plus to all this if I can make myself keep the weight lose in check after ward. I've been trying to lose weight for weeks now. This is a little drastic for a weight loss program though. Have part of my stomach removed.
Well, if I don't post before Fri! I ask only that you all wish me luck.

Hope it all goes well for you Dennis- sometimes the prep is harder than the op.

Good luck Dennis! I suspect you'll likely find the prep worse than the actual procedure.

Yes, Dennis, all the best luck.

The prep is more of a pain for the patient by far. I get to prep every couple years and never look forward to it. We look forward for you to chime in a couple weeks from now.

It's needed. Gotta clear that 5 - 9 pounds of undigested meat in your intestines out. Most men that eat meat have up to 10 pounds that they've been accumilating(sp) for up to 6 years without passing it. Yuk. :alien: :blue: :alien:
