Great photostream on Flickr: Alternatives for men

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Great photostream on Flickr: Alternatives for men

Post by Stevie D »

I came across this really good Flickr photostream, compiled by Leslie Marion. There are hundreds of photos of men wearing skirts, kilts, dresses; also other freestyle fashion items, in all sorts of situations. Many are fashion show runway shots, some are fun, party-style, cross-dressing shots, but there are a lot of real street scene photos too, depicting men in skirts, kilts (and some dresses) going about their ordinary everyday business.

Some photos there will be familiar to long-term Cafe members. It's definitely worth a good browse. However, if you see photos there which you personally don't happen to like, that's fine but please don't slam the the entire photostream just because something isn't your particular cuppa char. Be open-minded and positive; there is something there for everyone.

Cool stream, Stevie - thanks for sharing it! There are a lot of good interesting looks there - I am inspired.

(There's even one picture of me - looks like it was harvested off my Facebook page.)

While looking through this stream I came across the a reference to http://www.simple-mixte.com/ or, Google translated into English here. This was a new one on me and worth a browse.

Have fun,

Ian.

Yes SF, that's the one - although the picture was taken in New Orleans.

I looked at the photostream when this thread first started and enjoyed looking at the pics. Great photostream! Unfortunately, I noticed a few minutes ago that the user is no longer active on Flickr. :(

Oh dear, so I see. What a shame. I wonder if he'll come back.

I really hope so. I wasn't able to see all of the pics so I bookmarked the page and was planning on checking out the rest of them.

Darn, I only got up to page 35 (of 77 or so) and was curious if he had found any of my Flickr pictures.

Stevie D, is there any way to see that stream of pictures without being a Flickr member? I'm not big on joining sites and giving out a lot of personal information just to see some pictures. I would like to see the pictures tho..I had a bad experience with Facebook with a virus I picked up there. It's gone now, but I had to delete all references to Facebook to delete the virus. I think the less places have my personal info the safer I am.
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Sorry, Skip - I'm afraid you are too late anyway. As others have commented up-thread, this particular person is no longer a Flickr member and his photos have been deleted. :(

Ordinarily, unless a Flickr member has marked their photos as being private, anyone can view them without signing up for a Flickr account. Just to test this, see if you are able to view my own Flickr photostream here:

I followed the flicker link and got a "this member is no longer active" message and no photos!
So is there anything there?
