me in kilt

Post by david30101 »

here are some pics of me in a midas clothing kilt I got. Somehow it made me more confident and want others to see me wearing it. Ive been in most stores and public places wearing it. Im in Georgia, USA, north of Atlanta. The next cruise I take. I will wear it to and from the ship and while on ship as well. I need to buy a few more. I like the wrap style. Its "sexy" in a way, which i can show alot or a little depending on how I sit. I normally wear bikini underwear with it so I dont care if others happen to get a peek.

That looks good.
I have the Midas Trojan style in the same bleach blue denim and a Midas Leisure kilt in grey.
I find it preferable to wear a plain slip under the leisure kilt due to the overlap of the front apron being just seven inches, but there is no need for a slip with the Trojan as it has a lining stitched in at the waistband.

I know all you are "conservitive." I dont wear any type of slip under mine. Only underwear. I like the possibility of it opening at times, Not that i do it on purpose. Gives me more freedom despite the bikini underwear which is the type others like to see. its lightweight and can blow open but that dosent bother me.

Me in a Midas Skirt

Post by david30101 »

This pic is of me taken Feb 25 09 [Inappropriate image redacted per forum rules -- Mod.]. This is a Midas skirt 100%cotton wrap style. So far Ive worn it in every public place I normally go to, including the gym. I feel comfortable wearing it. With it being a wrap style with about 6 inches of overlap Its very fun to wear and chalanging. I know some of you sayed you need some kind of "slip" under it, but I choose to wear it like it is with just bikini underwear. I dont wear any type of leggings, hose, or other type of shorts with it. I also wear muscle T shirts and other t shirts socks and tennis shoes. I have a very toned body (swimmer type build) shaved legs and privates, (hate body hair). For my age, im in very good shape. I also tan very easyly as well. Before i got this kilt, ive never really worn one in public except the gym when very few people are around.

Mod hat on.

It's not so much that we're a "conservative" (a word that in US parlance now carries too much baggage with it to be particularly useful) lot, but rather we're a lot that believes that flashing one's undergarments -- especially those that cover the loins -- is in poor taste and tends to give the public a bad impression of guys who want to wear skirts for any variety of other reasons than exhibitionism. It's the moral equivalent of going about with one's fly unzipped.

Going forward, excessive mention of flashing and loin-coverings will likely lead to the poster in question getting put on "moderated status". "Moderated status" means that a member's posts will require a review by a moderator -- and approval -- before they will be visible to the community as a whole.

[Mod hat off. This is written from the viewpoint of a contributor and community member.]

Is there a double-standard here? Yes.
Is that double-standard just or right? No.

The problem is that we're not likely going to be able to change that double-standard, and if we cannot change it then we're just going to have to live with it. A decent percentage of the "problems" guys in "alternative apparel" may experience come down to public tolerance and perception, and if we're to flaunt convention by "shoving both legs down one pipe" then we'd best not violate several others at the same time.

Nobody who's worn a skirt outdoors for any length of time in various weather conditions is going to claim that keeping the hem firmly down is possible in all instances; however, it is possible to mitigate the results of a serious "lift" in many cases, and, bearing in mind the above-mentioned double-standard, we (as men) are encumbered by a responsibility to do our best to keep ourselves reasonably modest, or at least decent, when it comes to being in public. What one wears in private is the sole business of that particular individual.

I would say that this particular "double standard" is neither right nor wrong, but inevitable, given the power differential between men and women in Western society.

As long as women have to fear sexual assault by men, and not vice versa, a man intentionally exposing himself is going to be seen as threatening in a way that a woman doing the same thing won't. And not taking reasonable steps to avoid exposure counts as "intentional."

Also note that men's and women's anatomies are different: the hemline can go up a lot further on a woman before you can see anything than on a man.

There is a solution to having a kilt open up in the wind or various postures. It is called a kilt pin.

It is nice that you have an attractive, fit body. Congratulations.

However, I do not need to see you flashing your underwear, nor do I need to know what you do with your privates.

Your comment (misspelled) on another thread that this forum is conservative is not correct. Rather, this forum is not at all about exhibitionism.

I could never be your father.

Perhaps it is less of a problem of being offended as it is of being more grown up and having become less enamored of our genitals than you are of yours. It is all part of recovering from puberty.

I see women's "accidental" lapses in modesty so infrequently, I cannot even think of the last time I did, if ever. It's just not true that women go around flashing their panties, or that such occurrences are an inevitable part of skirt-wearing.

What's it been, like 3 years since the last member/voyeur sat on the edge of his bed and showed us just a hint of this and a flash of that and talked about how he enjoyed watching female reactions at the nearby Mall when he squatted or bent at the waist and listened to and saw all the "O my"s of people that thought he should be in his own room and not in public?

Talked about how fast he moved before anyone called the Police. I was unimpressed then and I'm unimpressed now. Sapphire was right about Puberty. Grow up, Man up and get with the plan.
