How to make links hidden under wording?

Since this area is the closest thing to a help section- How do I put links in my posts here with the awkward and long URL appearing only as the wording I give it in my post? I know it was mentioned here before but I can't remember how to do that. Thanks, guys!

Is this what you mean?
Here is my method:
I do not know if the terms I use are the necessarily correct - - -
But in the -(address bar)- where you enter the http:// etc etc etc
Right Click on that address and click on COPY and then PASTE it just below
to what you are making reference.

Using the SkirtCafe for example:
RIGHT CLICK AND COPY THEN PASTE IN THE NEXT LINE BELOW
http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/

Then resume with your project text.

Some long winded double triple line http addresses may print all the address in the link and then
some forums I believe are set up to hyphenate the link - it is all there just hidden.
I just experiment and test and it seems to work everytime.

If this is not what you mean then maybe you just want to use -one- word to replace the whole
address text then we both need help and enlightenment.

In the upper right corner of the web page is an area for Search.
Put in - - - links hidden under wording - - -
Search .....
Results will give these 5 most recent posts and another one authored by Uncle Al 14 Jan 2009

I am just experimenting around trying to figure how to work it.
Appears to be putting an URL in parenthesis to code???

Good question, and one that is somewhat frequently asked.
There is some online help available for this and other questions about how to to things in a phpBB hosted bulletin board (which this one is).

This is the section that talks about posting using "BBcode", which is what you're doing when you format text, include links, or anything other than just typing in text:

You can also get help right from SkirtCafe. Look to the right of the text box where you type in your post or reply. You will see "BBCode is ON". "BBCode" is a link. Click on it to go to this guide:
