An interesting comment

Post by crfriend »

Out and about early this afternoon for lunch (I got off work "early" today because I went in at 02:30 to finish off mopping up one heck of a mess) I picked up an interesting -- and very nice -- comment on my attire from a chap who's initial question was, to the effect of, "Where is that outfit from? Russia somewhere?" My initial answer was to the effect of, "No, it's a local technician's outfit." to which there was laughter, but the parting shot was, "It looks really good; I like it." I merely said, "Thank you" and that was that.

Perhaps the world is getting ready for blokes in skirts.

That is a great response and hooray for clothes that get people socializing. The question itself shows the outfit works, it looks like something real, just not from around where you live or this time at first glance. I am reminded of an opposite experience once when dressed as a pilgrim on the day before Thanksgiving. At college I encountered an exchange student from Africa who asked about what I was wearing thinking I was dressed in my regular clothes and perhaps was a nun or something of the kind. These interactions are more positive than not and provide a wonderful opportunity to meet people you otherwise would not get the chance to.
