Is it our duty?
Re: Is it our duty?
For the consideration of the guys, brethren, folks, kindred, ilk, and the like hereabouts, I offer this observation: we live in a society of the perpetually peeved and insulted. To that I say: tough. Deal with it.

I agree. But for those who are hesitant to try skirting in public, or for those whose significant other doesn't approve, a traditional kilt may be a good first step, since it's so clearly masculine and established. Then steps can be made toward the better "it's just another article of clothing" attitude as less traditional outfits are worn.couyalair wrote:Wearing prince charlie jackets, sporrans and all the (commercial) paraphenalia with a tartan kilt similarly reinforces the notion that a kilt is only for Scots and only for special occasions. Wearing a kilt/skirt with ordinary pullovers, shirts, etc gives the message that it's just another article of clothing.
When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!

Unfortunately, the problem is with men. Men are too afraid to confront society. The day skirts for men become a daily sight, then for sure we will see more men wearing skirts. And this is especially true here in the USA where men are full of complexes. My belief is that little by little things will change
