I agree with Jack about the first grey one, as the model has her hand in a (very practical looking) pocket. The second seems, to me, to look like a pre conciliar nun missing the top part of her headdress.

The second item is the very same thing with a better (supplied) belt. Both have the same side and chest pockets. I've got one ordered in black, but I may also get a navy one.
Won't look like a nun on me!
Just the thing to swirl in the wind over my other round or crew neck shearer's singlets, Silkbody dresses etc, some of which are too long under my other shirt-dresses.
I'll put up a photo or two when I've got one. Usually have to "unstarch" the collar on these things, like the Damart ones for instance.
A Damart one:

Yeah! I like that one too. I'd turn down the collar on that one for me, and also roll up the sleeves for both of them.
If anyone says "What is that?" I can say it's a Thobe. Which sounds pretty cool. Better I guess than Abaya.

Thinks: is it my "feminine" side that loves the wide flowing skirts?
Or is it that the wide flowing skirts "flaunt" the men-in-skirts?
The old denim skirts seem rather "ho-hum".

Meanwhile it is really windy "gale-force 40knot peaking twice that" according to the report, as my crepe-de-chine over Silkbody skirts fly in the breeze to the shops. Wonderful.

Actually, there are quite a few immigrant families here near me, and I do see thobes regularly here. in white basically. Not anything like that shirt-dress Abaya on the women though. More like the burka on older women, even sometimes with the mesh over the eyes.
Not on the younger generation though on the whole, although there are neck-to-ankle plus hair covered ones at the local girls' school on my street. And at the bank, but some sects seem to OK the hair uncovered.
Personally, I like long flowing dresses, so the "modest" long Islamic dresses are ironically somewhat of a "turn-on" for me!
Some wear boring long pants though.

Uncle Al, that is not really rational, as a blanket boycott is unfair.
And you really only end up penalising yourself.

I'm rather fortunate with my body size, as the "standard length" comes just at my ankles, like the Silkbodies etc, and I'm a size "L", right in the middle of the range!

What do you bet whoever "they" might be, they're wearing Levi's jeans while they plot the downfall of the USA!

And quite possibly the genuine artical, as they are highly prized by the youth there you bet.

That's interesting. Well the youth in India are certainly in the jeans.
I notice my Historical Emporium embroidered skirt is also made in India. Good that they are keeping up with the Chinese!

Here's a shot of the East-essence shirt-dress, somewhat modified by me.
