Hello from a complex bloke

Whatever I am, TV, or perhaps TG, I feel very unusual. I have a body part that produces Testosterone, so people readily classify me as Male. I wish that life could be so simple. The more I study gender, the more I believe that the duality of gender is a myth. I am not 100% male. Do I belong here? Will I be welcome here? Can I be accepted here?

Yes, I am interested. Most of the time, I must present as a man, and therefore feel that I must not dress as a woman. I would indeed love to wear un-bifurcated garments all the time. I really detest bifurcated garments.

The whole notion that all persons must wear clothing that is socially consistent with societal norms relative to their superficial gender is totally obnoxious to me. It is one thing if most women want to wear pants. It is quite another thing to insist that they do. Ditto for men, and ditto for anyone in-between.

I've made 3 kilts, and for awhile, would regularly wear one to a girlfriends home on Sundays, for Sunday dinners with her mother and grandmother. I didn't realize at the time that the flap opened the wrong way for a man. Neither did they. Live and learn!

I am not physically fit, nor is my personality such that I am able to be confrontational and in someone's face. So for now, I will mostly root for you from the sidelines.

Worry not, Sir, we have all sorts of blokes here and the one thing we seem to truly agree on is that there are all sorts of blokes.

Just be yourself, that's what we're all trying to do. I'm a blokey bloke myself, but have always hated pants. I've been full time in kilts going on 6 years now and really had my first excursion in public in an outright skirt today ... I'd say it was HIGHLY successful! I hope you you can start to wear Mugs more and more.

The truth is this, and I mean it, nobody really cares anymore if you wear a skirt, particularly if you wear it in a masculine way, assuming you generally look masculine. I can't say what happens to folks who mix blokey and girly, so to speak, but I walked the mall in two different skirts today ... nobody even seemed to notice other than the occasional smile or nod.

I showed up in a knee length hiking skirt I got from LL Bean, tried on several mini cargo skirts at American Eagle and bought two ... I tried them on right there, the gal seemed excited that I was doing so, no dissing me, instead she just seemed genuinely pleased about it and wanted to see how I looked! After I bought it I went to the 'family bathroom' the mall had and changed into the mini, then walked the entire mall in that!

I don't know what to say except that I've come to believe that we really have won the war against the Tyranny of Trousers ... but you still have to find the courage to cast off the pants, don the skirt and get out there. Take courage from all of us for we freely give it here.

Thank you all for the (unexpected) warm welcome.

I am amazed by the acceptance many of you have experienced. I cannot imagine that the state where I live is nearly as advanced as Texas, Oregon, Washington state, etc. I don't live too far from someone who has made it his life ambition to picket funerals of US Military because they don't ask and they don't tell.

Still, I need to keep an open mind. Civilization has been known to advance, so there is hope.

Bruce I don't remember what I put in my profile, but one of my homes is in Louisiana. And my son in law (who lives in my home) is from Alabama. Neither of those states is famous for its liberalism.

But in a few minutes I shall don my black office skirt and step onto my bicycle and head to the pharmacy.

If I can wear a skirt here in Louisiana, then yes there must indeed be hope for society.
