A topic not covered much. What shoes do you wear with your skirts?

I usually wear either sandals or regular male shoes.

I have two pair of SAS sandals, one pair blue, on pair brown. They go with just about everything I wear in the summer. They also have great arch support.

I wear what I normally would wear non-skirted. So, athletic shoes, casual shoes, Keen sandals, and hiking boots. With my kilts, the same, although, then I do sometimes add the Ghillie Brogue shoes that I own.

Shoes that fit, which means that they have to come from the limited range marketed to guys.

I'd love to find a pair of tall (three quarter calf or knee length) boots with low heels but, even though there are plenty of companies selling boots that would fit my needs, I've not managed to find anyone selling boots that will fit my feet :(

There seem to be plenty of vendors of long boots my size if I wanted fetish wear, thigh length with enormous spiky heels are no problem to find but I need something I can wear in public and do not want to look like a (particularly ugly) drag queen.

Have fun,

Ian.

Comfortable, well fitting and practical mens shoes or sandals. I believe what goes on ones feet should be comfortable above all other considerations. I remember, in the late 60s owning a pair of boots with high(ish) heels, and was amused to see a pair with exaggerated long toes in a store recently- what goes around, comes around.

It's easy for me as I only have 2 pair. One is brown leather slip on loafer style and the other is a pair of Birkenstock sandals. At $70 bucks and up, I wait for a pair to wear out before I buy another pair. Unlike how I am with skirts. I have about 30 of those. LOL.. :alien: :D :alien:

Richard,

Thanks for the link for/about the boots :!:

They look great, especially the 'side' lace-ups. I'll bet they
would look good with any of my kilts as casual footwear.

Thanks :!:

Thanks for that Richard.

I have to say that I quite like those and may consider a pair of the side laced ones as a casual option to go with a kilt in winter, but what I'm really after is a pair of leather boots that would look like well designed men's shoes when worn with trousers or an ankle length skirt but would avoid the draft around the ankles in winter.

I wear all type of shoes from standard very correctly referred as "limited choice of so called man's shoes" (yes women can and wear all the models marketed for males, guess that is not surprising) to heels of all varieties, depends on the outfit.

gotta agree. MOST men's shoes simply look too "clunky" for most skirts. i know, personal opinion blah blah blah. but they don't look right most of the time.

But doesn't that infer that unless the rest of the "outfit" is feminine, as most people think skirts are, nothing in the so - called Men's wardrobe should be worn with a skirt?

I thought this general assumption is one of the things we were trying to dissuade?

I think most shoes look "clunky" with my kilt or skirt. But then I have huge feet. I only wear Birkenstocks or a pair of those high, front laced mocs.
